Tip of the hat to Chris Grant

I have been really worried about the entire Bynum situation but as the structure of the contract is leaked out, I'm starting to think that he has done well. Only $6 million of the contract is guaranteed. Dallas cannot offer more than $8 million (without moving people). The short-bus incentives are things like report to training camp, be on the active roster and play in games. So, Bynum will tell you how healthy he thinks he is based on the contract he chooses. If he picks the $12 million, he expects to play this year. If he picks the $8 million guaranteed money contract, not so much. And if Bynum doesn't expect to play, he can go to Dallas.

Haven't heard any particulars, but it seems with almost everything I hear/read about Grant he definitely covers his bases. Buy low, sell high seems to be his philosophy. I don't know that I would want him sitting across from me at a poker table.

Grant hasn't made a bad move since he's been here. He's honestly been amazing despite what the sheep on the gb have you believe.

I was against bynum but this is a really good low risk contract.

People make some of the dumbest comments regarding this deal. Fact is, the Cavs were going to give Oden 3-4 million last year just to rehab with them and maybe play this year. These guys are trying to win and put their teams in advantageous positions. 6 mil is an investment it may or may not pay off but it has the potential to pay off big. As investors will tell you, you make your money on the initial purchase so you have to make sure you buy low. And, this is buying low with Bynum.
