Far and away the best player on the court. The only other player that even came close was Anthony Davis, who was also pretty impressive. It was awfully nice to have the player that every single person being interviewed talked about on the team you root for again.

Pistons fan. Man kyrie was great last night. He's perfect for the USA team and a lock, if healthy, to make it.

He did look great. I am a big Drummond guy and like him a lot more than DeAndre - lock him in the gym at the free throw line though!

Drummond is totally impossible to stop with a great PG penetrating and drawing defenders and super outside shooters. Kyrie and Drummond will be impossible for international teams to stop, and I'm predicting right now you'll see a lot of that in the future. If Kyrie stays healthy, he'll be the first guard on the team to get minutes after Chris Paul. Drummond has the best big man hands in the game. He's the most athletic big man you'll ever see and he's massive. (He's got the hops and agility of SF's! - seriously, he does). Dre' rolling to the basket will be unbelievable given Irving's and Paul's abilities to hit him. He's also about the best rebounder in the game and the best shot blocker.

Drummond also is the only big man in the USA pipeline who could stand up to Gasol and Val - and that's a totally missing piece on the USA team. Even if Howard plays, you have to have big men in reserve. Anthony Davis is NOT a C. He's a stretch 4, and is physically too weak to defend in the post. Drummond is 19 years old and gifted. Watch team USA groom him for bigger and bigger roles. His competition are guys like DeAndre Jordan, Hibbert - who didn't show up or wasn't picked for this team, and Lopez - but Drummond's ceiling is way higher than any of those guys, and they are all at least 25 years old already. When you project a long term top true Center for USA BB, Drummond has to be the guy. Also Dre' is a guy coaches and teammates love.

Good points about Gasol and Val etc. Watching Drummond in summer league blew my mind. He isn't scared to dribble when he gets the ball say in transition.... and rightfully so! By 2016 I expect him to be at least a 20/13 player and part of team USA. I agree that with paul and kyrie the pick and roll would be unreal with that shooting ability. Good luck to DET on the quest to get him a PG that will maximize his huge ceiling.

I'm on record as saying that as it stands now, the Cavs and the Pistons are the two young teams in the East with the best futures. You guys don't want us to develop or get a top PG, any more than we Pistons fans are wishing the Cavs luck in developing a top big man. Hell, we're hoping that Bennett flops and doesn't blend, and you're hoping that KCP is a bum and not a top young SG. You guys have a loaded young roster, as do we. You've got a lot of first round picks, and I'm not sure about your cap situation. The Pistons have a loaded young roster, two great expiring contracts in Stuckey and CV, AND a lot of cap space $15 million in 2014 and then again in 2015 (if I've heard that correctly). It seems to me that both franchises have a ton of assets and flexibility down the road. (If you guys get LeBron back, I will be projectile vomiting all over my living room)

We can both be scary teams. I think a big time rivalry is now in its infancy.

Besides our own 1st round picks, I don't believe we are owed any from other teams. We have a lot of cap space going forward, especially this upcoming summer. And don't sleep on the Wizards as an upcoming team in the East.

Yikes. Really? We are owed a bunch of 1st round picks still. 2 from the Heat, 1 from the Kings, and 1 from the Grizzlies. Not to mention quite a few 2nd rounders.

It boggles the mind that someone who follows the Cavs doesn't know this.

Owning up to my own mistake too. We actually are only owed 1 from the Heat now. We technically received their 1st rounder this year, but we swapped it with the Lakers, who traded it to the Suns. Still owed 3 future 1st's though.

Team USA Showcase. NBA TV might show another repeat in the future.

Kyrie had some nice dishes, for those that think that Kyrie isn't really a playmaker.

He should be able to crack 7 apg with all the improvements. I expect the season to start rough due to all the changes and us still being a young team but by ~ 20 games in Kyrie should be showing us a more rounded game.

I'm more worried about Waiters trying to fit into a pure SG mode than I am about Kyrie improving in defense and playmaking.
