Brian Windhorst wrote:The Cleveland Cavaliers suspended center Andrew Bynum indefinitely Saturday for conduct detrimental to the team.

In addition, the Cavs will begin aggressively looking to trade Bynum, sources told ESPN.com.

Also mentions that they will try and trade him before January 7th when his deal for the year guarantees.

Any ideas as to why he was suspended from posters here? Any rumors floating around town?

I thought he was starting to play better for you guys. Saw one early game where he looked almost done, then saw a game just a week ago where he looked great and actually had a little bounce.

very curious to hear what happened here.

As a Sixers fan this is not really a surprise. Bynum isn't a bad guy, just an overgrown kid with bad knees and no real love for the game. Trust me, if you want a productive Sixer center, toss us something for Spencer Hawes, he is one of the more under rated players in the game. Good luck, always liked the Cavs and the Bynum deal really won't hurt you since it was smartly structured.

The Cavs are a sad franchise.

This is NOT ok. Warning issued. Don't do this again.

Only a complete idiot would come to a teams page and make such a comment.

Who knew, it was Bynum being the problem all along. Well, he hasn't played particularly well in the last couple games. This is why the Cavs contract for him was a true stroke of genius.

How was it a stroke of genius? Didn't the Cavs just pay him 10 million for little production this year? Unless I am understanding the contract incorrectly.

Jazz fan here. Really sad to see this idiot ruin his career. You guys gave him a good chance to succeed.

Any word as to what his problems were?

Yep, you're missing how the contract works. It doesnt become guaranteed until a little over a week from now. Basically a team can trade for him before his contract becomes guaranteed and it becomes an instant expiring. So, a team can trade out quite a bit of salary to match Bynum's potential contract, but then cut him right away and not have to pay any of it, which saves them both from having to pay the contract of whoever they trade, but also saves them from tax penalties.

I was kind of curious when a few guys mentioned a couple of days ago that they were ready for the experiment to be over. I dont think anyone saw what happened coming, but the outcome seems like it's been written on the wall for a few weeks now.

Props to Bynum for getting himself back in playing shape, but the guy just didnt have the heart to go out there every day with such severe pain.

It will be really interesting to see what we were are able to move his contract for.

you need to work on your math skills, 6 million.

Thanks for clearing it up! I just remember him signing a 2 year/20 million contract but wasn't aware of any of these clauses. In that case it was a good low risk high reward deal for the Cavs.

I'm wondering if it might be time to trade Andy and jump into the tank this year. Give Zeller and Bennett some more run to see what we have.

glad I hurt your feeling, I'd rather be ignored and able to tell the difference between 6 and 10.

Completely different situations. The Cavs only gave up a few million (and still might get a good return for him), compared to the Sixers who gave up TONS of assets along with money for him. Besides all that, he actually played well before pretty much everyone expected him to, so everyone was wrong about that as well.

For the Cavs it was a low risk move, for the Sixers it was a high risk move. I dont see how anyone can blame the Cavs front office for giving it a shot.

He was a very talented center but It was a risky deal and everyone (including the cavs) knew that. Bynum seems like complete d-bag so getting rid of him will only help team chemistry

I might be mad though if I traded AI, Harkless, and Vucevic for Bynum and Richardson. Terrible FO decision.
