If no decent trade materializes for Bynum, what are the chances that Gilbert pays the luxury tax just to keep him off of the Heat. I think Grant steps in and says this hurts the team via the repeater penalties so I go with 30/70%.

The Cavs are $11m under the luxury tax with Bynum accounting for the full $12.25m. Keeping him doesn't put them ANYWHERE near the tax line.

Don't be too rough on the rookie. Clearly he didn't know that the salary cap and luxury tax were separate things.
