Congrats Cleveland fans. I've been hoping anxiously for years for Ernie Grunfeld to get fired. Looks like you'll be able to start anew.

Step 1 is complete.
Now we need to find a non coaching job for Mike in the front office. Vice President of Basketball Operations or something.

The Dion Waiters pick wasn't all that great, either.
Especially if he's the reason CLE passed on Oladipo.

Re: Chris Grant Fired - Per Woj
The question now becomes, who will they replace him with? Whoever it is, Gilbert cannot bring someone in and give them the same expectation of making the playoffs this year. It would be unrealistic and a mandate like that would ward off some strong candidates that could consider the job.
If that assumption is the case, does that signal that the Cavaliers would have to switch their focus to a (semi?) rebuild? Would a new GM have the freedom to do some house cleaning?

^I think the biggest reason the team is out of the playoff race right now is coaching. CLE has waaaaaaay more talent than WAS or ATL. The players simply aren't utilized correctly or developing properly.
There's only so much a GM can do in-season.

The GM is responsible for the coaching.
I don't completely agree with your assessment either, but the GM is responsible for all aspects of the team. Coaching is one of several failures....all of which fall under the GM's umbrella.

Even though I never had a problem with his drafting minus Bennett. He had to go simply because he had to rehire his best friend potato head. Mike Brown is next to go, hopefully.

Ah well. Minus the draft record, I always kinda liked Grant. But the FA signings this year not only flopped, but were just plain detrimental, and I don't think his draft record was very defensible. I think he might be an OK GM who made some risky moves and just got unlucky all-in-all. But I don't mind him being gone, especially with another pretty high pick on the way.

Well it was only a matter of time after the Sacto beatdown. Now Brown is next, I hope he walked into the locker room and let the guys know that Grant lost his job because of their BS, plain and simple. Before Brown goes I think the team has to dump a player or two just to show the players that they too are being held accountable.
At this point Andy should probably be moved, Deng wont be coming back so if they can squeeze anything out of moving him I say do it, and either Dion or Kyrie should be going as well, Kyrie only for a good haul though.
Time for rebuild part two, only this time bring some vets that will hold the kids responsible. Until then I wont be shelling out any $ for gear or going to any games. The treadmill of mediocrity is better than the treadmill of tanking imo, unless you haven't been paying attention the last 3 years.

It's early on Bennett and TT is about what you could hope for out of that draft. Look at the top ten picks every year, remove the best player and then compare the Cavs players to the other picks.
