Top 5 is not happening. It will be 8 or 9. Thats what you all wanted anyway. Nobody wanted a top 3 pick, they wanted to "establish a winning culture". Enjoy

I think most of us wanted to see growth and a playoff spot. No need to let facts get in the way of being an ass though. Perpetual tanking hasn't been the answer so far but in this draft being top 5 would have been nice, so I get where you are coming from in regards to the 8th or 9th pick. Its too bad you feel you have to fabricate others positions to try to feel like you are smarter than everyone else.

What you talking crazy for? I always speak the common sense and get to made out to be an idiot/troll for it, yet, my prediction for this poor playoff push has came true. Excuse, me if I don't support a treadmill of mediocrity, because that's what ends up happening when you are only shooting to be a quick first round exit and labeling it as learning to win.

It seems you are going to end up with the 8th pick, without Kyrie and Detroit having a easier schedule.
What are you targeting? Cleveland needs a Center but there is nothing there, Nurkic is not coming next year, Cauley-Stein is not that good.
Deng might leave and Waiters seems imposible to fit in the starting lineup, so I guess you will go with a wing prospect.

Rodney Hood is the guy with the lowest risk, and is ready to play, I think that could be an easy option, might be a little bit of a reach at 8th... but there are no really much better options.
Tweeners should be out of the question, and the only other guy that might be better is Gary Harris that plays Waiters position, so...

Mercer just upset Duke and Jabari Parker did not look good. Some of these teams who are going out of their way to be deliberately bad are in for a rude awakening. These guys aren't franchise saviors.

Given the injury situation, it's hard to predict but I can see the Cavs winning eight more games the remainder of season.

Unless Aaron Gordon somehow falls to the Cavs.

never got why you Browns/Indians fans are quick to write off the Cavs but have faith in the worst run NFL franchise and keep supporting it.

No support for a crappy Cavs team but 110% support for the other two.

Wrong, Since Dolan lied and said "if you come and buy tickets I will get the FA's here" I have not watched or listened to an Indians Game, really. I hope the coach and players do well but with the owner stepping up its like fighting with one hand tied behind your back.

I am a Cavs fan that has coch and played basket ball at several levels. MIKE BROWN SUCKS AS A COACH. I have no problem with the cavs players (excpet for thse who do not attempt to get better obviously) or even with their GM now. I did not like Chris Grant's picks but I would have rated them a B- to a C+ not as bad as the Brown's picks like Weeden etc. I actually am forgiving and willing to wait to see what the Browns do this season with a new everything. Haslem at least seams to care about his team so good for him (and us).

Seriously Boss, Cleveland fans want to win nothing else. How many big time players come out of our area schools etc. We know good coaching and not so good coaching. A lot of fans who go out and watch H.S. sports know the difference between a well coached team, a team that has their favorite mommy's and daddy's donations = playing time teams and good programs. When we see weakness we know it.

Cavs need help and this is supposed to be a NBA DRAFT thread did anyone else think that kid Cleantrony Early? That kid can ball! I doubt he declares for this year's draft but I hope he does and we take him. Love that guy's game. Not afraid to shoot the big shot, get rebounds or pass to the open man. Nice first step for 6'-8" too.

So anyway: the Cavs will end up with a pick between 7th and 15th, with the likelihood that they're going to get the #9 or #10. Who do you like there? I'm going to assume the team sees their needs at SF and C, and since Embiid is the only decent C in the draft, they're looking for a SF. Who do you like in that range (according to NBADraft.net):

- Rodney Hood
- Jerami Grant
- Doug McDermott
- Dario Saric
- Glenn Robinson III
- Kyle Anderson

I personally like McDermott. He can shoot, he showed he could play with the NBA guys last year, he's used to listening and working with his coach, and he can buy beer for Karasev. Hood may be my second choice.

I think Hood would be my first choice, based mostly on what I have read about him. With McDermott, I just don't know about white guys that score well in college but lack athleticism. Adam Morrison, and Jimmer Fredette come to mind, as well as Danny Ferry if you want to go back a ways.
I know there are others, and there is the Larry Bird thing, though he was pretty mobile when he first came into the league so there have been many guys like him and mark Price who have been great, but Hood seems to me to fit better, especially if we keep Brown as coach.

saw this on another message board, it seemed like a good possibility. If Orlando got the 3rd pick, would you trade Kyrie straight up for it? Assuming Parker, Wiggins, and Embiid all declare. You could then use your pick to draft Ennis, who seems like would be a better fit next to Waiters.

I think you're cherry-picking white failures. There are successes too, and a lot of them play SF/PF. Ryan Anderson, Chandler Parsons, David Lee, Kevin Love, Kyle Korver, and so on. None were highly rated for athleticism. And McDermott shoots better than all of them (from both 2pt and 3pt range) except Love, who beat him at 2's but lost to him at 3's. You do worry about the lack of blocks/steals-- it's worse than I'd thought. I might take Hood as the front-runner of the group too.

I'm not sure Orlando wants Kyrie over their pick-- if I'm Orlando I'd rather keep the home-grown potential star instead of a PG who isn't committed to staying. For Orlando, Kyrie would be a rental for as long as he signs his RFA contract for.

I think the Lakers are the mostly likely team to be willing to trade for Irving-- Kyrie will stick around next to Kobe. Detroit too. Maybe Sacramento if they get lucky. Heck, Milwaukee might if they like Sanders/Henson/Giannis enough as their front line of the future.

Do the Cavs do it? I think it depends how they play down the stretch with Kyrie back. If they go 2-5 with Kyrie back, he might be packing his bags before his value drops on the open market.

OMG!!! If the draft was today. He would be my pick at the end of the lottery. He is Ibaka-esque to the fullest. He's probably one of the best athletic talents in Europe right now. Definitely a talent to look at towards the end of the lottery.
