Thoughts?
First of all George is old, 63 years old to be exact. Though, he did take us to the playoffs back in 1985 only to be dismissed that next year. I really am on the fence about this because I think he's a great coach, but the group of guys we have aren't championship contenders (pending this year's free agency) and they are going to need time and experience. Don't get me wrong I think we are definitely a playoff team, but I just wonder does he have time or the energy to commit to us for 3-4 years? I just don't see this happening, and I also don't think it would be best for the organization.

I liked the president idea.
but I mean, maybe he's about to reinvent himself, the whole Gucci Mane support might be a gateway for players to buy into him.

I'll trade Mike Brown and MGK for George Karl and Gucci Mane.
I don't think we will get a president (for better or worse) because of Gilbert's usual strong involvement.
I'd be okay with Karl as coach, though not ecstatic by any means.

Gucci's value probably takes a major hit due to having to spend next 2.5 years in prison, but I think we still win that trade by landslide & the valley the landslide runs into

you may get no one to "want" to come here. Karl is done being a coach.
I still think the best move is to get Hollis, pick up Zebo and Gasol even is you overpay. Then go after Gasol's brother, so there are good bigs and guards both. The players and coach will know each other and system from the start on defense with better guards then Memphis ever had.
And for those of you that have CAP worries so what its a soft cap and Gilbert has the money. We have to forget about the cap with Brooklyn spending 100 million a year. Gilbert needs to forget about money and getting involved with stuff.
