Every follower of the NBA outside of Cleveland holds the belief that the Cavs missed on every pick in the post-Lebron era outside of Kyrie, which we Clevelanders know is simply not true. Thompson is no all-star by any means but he is a damn good player who will give you a double-double on any given night. Why does no one mock the Enes Kanter pick or the Derrick Williams pick?.....Jan Vesley....Bismack Biyombo? As for Waiters, he's one of the best scorers from his draft and the only player who would have been a better pick is Drummond, who 8 other teams passed on, as well. Finally, there's Bennett. Bennett has been awful so far, but you can't write him off after one year, and that draft was terrible as a whole anyways.
Overall, I don't think all the hate this city receives is entirely justified. Yes, some of the other teams that drafted badly in the lottery are playoff teams now, but we've only just started our rebuilding stage. It took Washington 5 seasons of rebuilding to shoot into a playoff spot and I firmly believe that after 4 years so far, next year is the year we can finally shock the league and prove that this city can win. After the disappointment of a season last year, most of the players will be playing with a chip on their shoulders next year. And with a good coach, as well as a decent center and small forward added to this roster over the offseason, I think we can have a pretty good squad next season.

Re: Next Year is Our Year...
Seems like only team that gets criticized for drafting is Cavs.
TWolves used to be but it all got written off with Kahn, Kings used to but it got written off with Maloofs/once they switched to drafting the biggest name.
Everyone loves Wiz but they drafted Otto Porter & Jan Vasley with their 3rd and 6th pick.
Traded 5th pick in 2009 for Mike MIller.
Wall & Beal are great but this team missed out on
one of Rubio/Curry/DeRozan
one of Brandon Knight/Alec Burks/Kawhi/Vucevic & number of other 2011 picks better than Vasley
one of MCW/McLemore/Giannis (yes, people make that kind of reach when criticizing Cavs)
let's back up to Beal, is he really better than Drummond? is a 20 year old shooter averaging 18 or so PPG more valuable than a 20 year old 7 footer physical specimen with all the tools for dpoy averaging more than 13/13 in his sophomore year.
I'd hate to single out Wiz because I can make this case for every team, Spurs are great, remember they traded rights to Scola? OKC are gods with retrospect drafters but they overlook 2 things.
1. Jeff Green over Joakim Noah???
2. Cole Aldrich over Patrick Patterson, Larry Sanders (he's not overpaid for no reason), Eric Bledsoe, Avery Bradley.
In fact, drafting cole aldrich is going by popular belief if I ever seen one, this guy came in as 6'9 center out of Kansas. They admitted to drafting Ibaka because of athleticism/size/physical attributes (pause) and not analytics (Westbrook/Harden/TT/Waiters/Bennett), so I'm really curious to see what kind of advanced stats cole aldrich displayed for him to be better prospect than Larry Sanders or Pat Pat, both made of same stuff as Ibaka just waiting for a mold.
I think Bennett flourishes next year & makes the sophomore team, it is our year. I do have a feeling we move up in the draft, but if we don't I hope we draft more of Vonleh/Randle/Gordon and less of McDermott/Nurkic/Saric
5/6 out of those are PFs, wow, & I think Nurkic is overrated.
Isaiah Austin would be awesome in the 2nd round.

Re: Next Year is Our Year...
I told you all next year was our year! Haha this is awesome. Forget a "decent center" or a "decent small forward." Let's get Wiggins or even draft Embiid so that we can bring the King back to the promised land!
