^^^ That gif is almost exactly what it was like for me watching Embiid play for the 1st time at KU this year. I immediately thought he was going to be the #1 pick, almost couldn't believe what I was seeing. I watched every minute he played this year. I'm a KU fan anyway, but this year I wasn't watching to see the Jayhawks, I was watching to see Embiid.
Most people are really underestimating Embiid's offensive potential. I think he has a good chance of putting up seasons of 26/12/3b/4a with a very high TS%. (For comparison, when Anthony Davis came out, I thought he was going to be a 23/12/4 guy.)
Embiid has the brains and passing ability for a team to run its offense through him, and as a result, he's probably going to have seasons where he gets 4 apg. He's also going to be an indefensible monster as a scorer: highly efficient post game (jump hooks, assorted moves), smooth high-percentage mid-range jumper, beautiful high percentage stroke from college 3pt range, very good free throw shooter, and he even has pretty good handles. Throw in his athleticism, size, high IQ, mean streak, and strong desire to dominate/win, and you have a guy who will be capable of 26 ppg with a TS% over 60%.
