If the Cavs draft Embiid, should they offer him as much as he can get? Or is that team to weak defensively?

I doubt that Carmelo would ever serious entertain going to Cleveland and as much as I think NY is a mediocre team with no real championship prospects they're still better than the Cavs.

I am sure he wants to play for a team in a big market with championship aspirations. The Cavs have no chance.

Chicago would be his best bet but rose contract will be a dagger to that franchise so he might as well try land in Houston. New York shouldn't even be an option for him.

Would Melo go to Cleveland to join the most talented team in the NBA?

Dump TT/Jack/Varejao/Karasev to Charlotte (or someone else under the cap) for a future pick
Draft Embiid
Sign LeBron and Melo

Irving
Waiters
LeBron
Melo/Bennett
Embiid/Zeller

18 - LeBron
18 - Melo
7.5 - Irving
5.6 - Bennett
5.5 - Embiid
4.1 - Waiters
1.7 - Zeller
2 - 4 min salary slots
----------------
62.4

Most talented team in the NBA, and a loooooong championship window.

They're also a lot older and salaried, which is why they won the 4 games more than the Cavs last season.
