lol, yeah that was ridiculous.
but kinda true insofar as you either win 73 games - or it doesn't really matter.
what's the difference between winning 60 games and 70 games? in the playoffs it doesn't mean crap.
that being said, no, the cavs will surely not win 70 games in 2015. miami maxed out at 66 wins (after playing together for 3 seasons), i think that's the bench mark for the cavs. not because they can't be better than miami, but because the east is stronger now.

cavs did have a 66w season during lebron's first run though.

when the east was even weaker... ?
i mean, my point is that this is probably the best eastern conference since forever. 60 wins would be a great achievement for a newly-built team (incl. new coach) in its first season.

60 wins would be phenominal for this team. I'm guessing 57 or so....defense still matters.

The league is too deep right now for a team to win 70 games, MJ's bulls couldn't do it now either.

Lol no way. Too many questions about this team defensively, and Kyrie and Love have never been on a winning team. It sounds cliché, but they have to "learn to win". And if the reports are true, and David Blatt plans to rest Lebron some games, that doesn't sound like they will be chasing any records.

Outy has it correct again. But if I'm predicting 59; only because we will rest smartly with Blatt in control and if he wants to coast like Pop did at SA late year, I'm okay with that.

70... no way not in the first year with no rim protection and not sure if Ever
we will win alot of games on offense alone but unless Blatt has some amazing Team defense concept that doesnt need a rim protector our defense will be just "OK"
i would predict 57-60 wins around the mark the 2011 Heat did maybe a little better.
Its good to be confident... but a bit of realism is still needed^^

When did this whole rim protection nonsense start? Its not as though several of the last championship teams had rim protectors nor did the 66 win Cavs

2014 - Duncan
2013 - None
2012 - None
2011 - Tyson Chandler
2010 - Bynum, Gasol
2009 - Bynum, Gasol
2008 - KG
Really miami is the exception and most recent champions had rim protectors. Doesn't mean we can't win without it but there is a history of it and it does help.

Imo Duncan isn't really a rim protector.

He blocked 1.9 shots a game last year in 29mpg. Sti one of the better rim protectors in the league IMO.

His 9'6 standing reach helps deter a lot of drives and commandeer the paint
