Game 18: Cavs at Toronto Raptors 7:30 EST, NBALP FSO
Posted: Fri Dec 5, 2014 4:05 am
by King Stannis
The Cavs carry a five-game winning streak into Toronto. Coming off an ugly win over the struggling Knicks, the Cavs play for the second straight night against the leading team in the Eastern Conference. Which team will show up? Will the Cavs be too gassed or dig deep?
Carried by NBA League Pass and Fox Sports Ohio.
Keys to the Game:
1. Forget how badly they played in New York
2. Win on the Boards
3. Pass the ball on offense and involve Love
4. Play better defense
5. LeBron bouncing back
Discuss.

Your big 3 may be tired, but Lebron is going to look for retribution after what happened last time they met.

I've always wondered why Raps fans were such jerks. Yeah Kyries shots were lucky but the ridiculous 3 Lowry made was skill. What idiots you can be.

So a few 'jerks' automatically gets us all generalized as jerks/idiots..Some logic you got there chief

If the Raptors luck out and get a Cavs team run through Kyrie Irving, we should be able to win this game. Really hoping LeBron spares us. haha

Why can't you take criticism? We'll talk a year from now when LeBron is crying foul that Irving isn't playing "off-the-ball" more and running the offence through him.
Ego clash in cue.

LeBron is your point. He should be handling the ball and making plays for Irving who should shut up, play off the ball more and listen to a man who has actually won something everywhere he went.
Kyrie has a player efficiency rating on 14.3%. That is pathetic. If I was GM I would trade him for Rondo and instantly make Cavs a dynasty for years to come.
Lowry is our lil LBJ. He is our point. He SHOULD have the ball & run the plays and everyone else around him should play off the ball. See how the equation works out?

Little early in the morning for so much trolling.
This one is decided by which Cavaliers team shows up. If its the one that played the Knicks they're going to get their doors blown off by 30. If its the one from the two or three games before this they can beat the Raptors.
Big key seems to be LeBron getting off to a fast start. In the games they've played well the trend is for LeBron and Love to get going in the first half and then Kyrie to pop up in the 3rd quarter and finish teams off.
Toronto has some pretty nice depth and they've got some athleticism, which Cleveland doesn't handle very well. For Toronto, LeBron is very stoppable this season so they need to do that. If he gets 10 in the Q1, its could be a long night for the Raps.

Do you feel like LeBron lost a pep in his step? He isn't getting as high on his dunks / quickness around defenders. Are we beginning to see the decline? Thoughts?
Long time LeBron fan here since he got drafted by Cavs.

lmao, I guess if you have a picture of him in high school this must be true.
Of course LeBron has lost a step, multiple probably. He's shown flashes of quickness this season and he still drives with power but hasn't been able to elevate. His success at the rim seemingly (haven't looked up the number) is significatly poorer than its ever been before. Now he's as likely to miss, loose the ball, or get blocked as he is to score.
I've said this in other threads too. LeBron was once a unique phenom, now he looks a lot like Melo (not this year's pathetic version, but Melo before he lost his 'gives a crap'). That's still a really good player, but he's defendable now. He hasn't shown any reason to believe he can still beat a team by himself.

LeBron has a PER of 16% this season... can't help but feel bad for him being next to Irving who without a doubt is dragging him down this way with his ballhogging ways.
There is no way a career 27.79 goes down to 16% in one year due to age or regression. Irving.
Rank Player PER
1. Michael Jordan* 27.91
2. LeBron James^ 27.79
3. Shaquille O'Neal 26.43
4. David Robinson* 26.18
5. Wilt Chamberlain* 26.13

Banned for what? Criticisms based on stats aren't a part of a message board. How sensitive can you get.
