"This narrative of our coaching situation is truly ridiculous. It is a non-story. It's a non-narrative. Coach Blatt is our coach. He's going to remain our coach. Do not write that as a vote of confidence. He never needed one. It was never a question. So don't write it that way. I heard the entire audio file of LeBron James' comments. No more than three different times he said, 'We're growing together every day, the team grows together every day and I'm happy with who we have at the helm.'

"But that wasn't a sexy pool quote, so we kept looking for something else until we could pool something that sounded negative. That narrative is done. No change is being made, period.

"What we've got is exactly what we talked about, guys. We came into the year and I know it wasn't a sexy story. Growth and development in the long haul is what this is about. Every member of our organization from top to bottom - ownership, myself, the players, coaches, LeBron himself - signed on for the long haul. This is something we're doing over time and yes we've had some bumps. We've had it look really, really bad at times. We've also beaten every team ahead of us in the Eastern Conference.

"As of three games ago we've played the sixth-hardest schedule in the league in terms of wining percentage of opponents against and the toughest in the East. Doing all of that against the backdrop of losing 15 games from our backup point guard, losing our starting center and now LeBron has been out, Kevin had been out Shawn Marion had been out.

"Guys, this is a really difficult recipe to get right. Everybody needs to just settle down and let it happen. But I can promise you that's not a narrative that has validity at all nor will it."

Why the need to speak out on behalf of Blatt now?

"Truthfully, if I wasn't speaking now, I wouldn't have felt something needed to be said because it's just such a ridiculous assertion. It seemed giving life to it is what would happen by talking about it, so I didn't want to do that. At the same time, it's just time for everybody to get on with it. We have a chance to galvanize ourselves and grow and move in a positive direction so I just want to make sure we're doing that in a fresh environment."

Now lets just hope that LeBron finally gives him a chance.

I was encouraged to hear Griffin essentially say that we weren't going to be making a move until the deadline. I wish he hadn't spent most of the assets before realizing that you don't have to pay sticker price to get the car, but I think he gets it now.

I can't believe Griffin actually made most of the trades this year without heavy input from ownership. There were reports that before the Love trade went down, Gilbert and Glen Taylor were actually on the phone with each other. Those types of trades don't get done unless the owners sign off. I suspect the owners may have actually closed the Love trade.

Why is Griffin sleeping? I'm sure he realizes that the roster is way too thin and depleted. Cavs have DPE and a trade exception. Why hasn't Griffin gotten any help. Knicks have multiple players that can be had for nothing - Delambert, Jason Smith, Shane Larkin. Maybe even Iman Shumpert for a pick. Heck, Griffin should even consider JR Smith to carry some scoring load. What is Griffin doing?

Because Dally is pretty used up and he'd be a last resort. A half season rental of Shump isn't worth the Memphis pick.

Dally is pretty used up, but he can still give you a few minutes. Better than Haywood at least. Jason Smith is also available. Both of them are expiring and there's zero risk in taking one of these guys. I'd also take a chance on JR SMith. He can still score and can also play defense.

Unless the Cavs use their DPE and a phantom second for Dally, which I would do, he's about to be cut before the rest of his contract becomes guaranteed.

The Knicks would give him away for a part of the trade exception or DPE. I don't even think a second would be needed.

We have a whole bunch of phantom second round picks that requires the moon to be in the 7th hour and Jupiter to be aligned with Mars in order to be conveyed. Technically we have to trade something.

Looks like Griffin responded quickly to my idea. Shumpert + JR Smith. Will Delambert also join after he's waived?
