NBA Draft

Post#1 » by TimoMozzy » Sat May 16, 2015 2:03 am

with 5 days off and the NBA combine i thought it could be some time for some draft talk
i think theres 3 guys we will target at 24, but i think we try to move Haywards contract + 24 to move in the 10-15 range. one guy i see being a good target is Rondae Hollis Jefferson, the Tristan Thompson of wing players. He can be very good on defense, he can rebound and he makes good passes but he just cant shoot from past 10 feet or so. another one is Justin Anderson who's a 6'7 230 athletic freek that shot 45% from 3 point this year i believe. He doesn't use his full athletic abillity in games and struggles to dribble, maybe a rich mans KJ McDaniels?

the guy i think that they are most likely to target is Ga St RJ Hunter. 6'6 SG/SF who is the son of a coach (remember before the season started and how Lebron and Blatt preached and raved about how important it is to have a high basketball IQ?) He's an elite level defender but his offensive game needs work, he hasn't averaged less than 17 ppg in college but he hasn't shot over 44% either. last year he shot 40% from 3 point.

i dont think i would be surprised if we target an athletic PF incase we have to lose Thompson because he wants a max deal.

Completely 100% happy to have no idea about anyone in this draft outside of the top 5 or so guys. I havent run the draft lottery simulator even once for the first time in years. I havent looked at one scouting or highlight video. I haven't even looked at a single mock draft.

Feels pretty damn good.

To try to at least add something of substance.. I imagine we will be looking at a player who is older and more ready to contribute now, as compared to someone who might be better in the future, but will take a while to get there. Once again, no idea who fits that profile though.

It's weird not being excited for the lottery and draft. Got so use to it and use to winning it.

I love the draft and I will never get tired of it.
I want RHJ but I would never ever give the Haywood contract + 24 to trade up, everrr
Upshaw/RJH/Justin Anderson for me, R.J hunter is a dangerous pick, his D is questionable and he lacks explosiveness.
I would however like to get an additional early second round pick somehow.
