Will update this thread later. But man, I wish we were playing the Wizards instead. Discuss this series.

Wizards were a bigger threat, they were playing better than the Hawks and swept the Raps. Hawks haven't played well in months and dont have anyone to stop Lebron if he gets his head out of his ass now that Thabo is out

The only two reasons I would have rather played the Wiz is that I really enjoy the Cavs knocking the Wiz out of the playoffs, and I wanted a home game next Friday because my buddies all are getting together downtown.

Well I take it back, there's a third reason... That terrible organ music and PA announcer the Hawks have in their arena is going to be hell on our ears for however many games we have to play in the ATL.

Bring em on!

This is going to be a good series. Bron should be able to start hitting his shots again. curious to see how the bench plays this series since they carried most of the burden in the bulls series

Need kyrie. Not sure what's going on with him. Just get healthy. The only reason Rose stood out was because he could rest guarding an immobile Kyrie on D. Don't want to give Teague the same benefit.

Would like to see us rest kyrie the first game or two and roll with delly. You saw what a difference it made in game 6 against the bulls. Just give kyrie a few more days to get more healthy for game three and let uz roll with delly because playing injured hurt us more than it helped in the chicago series imo.

Yeah, we've been over this at least once already. The teams GM said " there's not even a remote possibility".
Just Google Varejao ruled out for remainder of season and playoffs.
An Achilles tear is no small matter, they'll be happy if he's good for training camp.
Sure he looks good in a suit on the bench but running and being able to push off on that foot is a whole different thing.
Kyrie most of the time when he shoots starts with the ball and then dribbles a while then shoots. -statistical analysis from a 'longtime' Cavs fan (June 2017)

Give Kyrie rest this series in preparation for the Finals. He will need to be in good condition for a potential showdown with Curry. Dellavedova will continue to surprise and I expect him to play well against Atlanta. Mozgov should look to dominate the Hawks frontcourt. At worst though, this is a series wherein Cavs could use a lineup of Dellavedova / Shump / JR Smith / LeBron / TT and not sacrifice size.

It wouldn't be the first time the GM has lied.

Your telling be Varejao and the team would not consider a return for the first home game of the finals (game 3)? That would be in mid june and be about 6 months since he ruptured his achillies...

6 months isn't long enough for an Achilles injury. It sucks but that's just the sad reality.

I will just say that you shouldn't use prior series as an outlook for the series that is about to happen. Wall was able to slow Teague down and Teague was also fighting through an ankle injury. Brooklyn and Washington's bigs were much bigger offensive threats than yours are. Cleveland has no one that can slow down Teague and the Hawks are a completely different team when Teague is playing well. Irving/Della will not be able to guard Teague/Schroder and, unlike Chicago, there are no weak links that you can hide them on. Are you going to put a hampered Irving on Kyle who is constantly on the move on offense? Put Della on him and Kyle can shoot over him. Thompson and Mozgov will struggle to defend Millsap/Horford on the perimeter.

The key to this series will be 3 pt shooting. I'm confident the Hawks advance to the Finals if they shoot a higher percentage from 3 than the Cavs do. If Korver remains cold while your role players remain hot, Cavs win.
