Dysfunctional. Couldn't even wait until the offseason... And we already signed Lue to a multi year deal before seeing him coach one freaking game. Lol.

I hate Cleveland sports.

I hate this team. Blatt was a legendary coach in Europe known for having his team play his way, and it couldn't happen here because one word: LeBron.

LeBron refused to play off the ball, he chooses to not run plays. I love the basketball player LeBron and hate the person.

That's crazy. No play should have this much pull. NO PLAYER.

Net fan here, 2 things:

1) Do you guys think Lebron will force Love out of Cleveland?

2) Take it from a Net fan who watched management appease the demands of Deron Williams to the detriment of the team...never, ever let the inmates run the asylum.

I'm not quite sure what to say other than I really hope it works out in the end.

Nothing will work for the Cavs until Lebron moves himself to PF and copies Draymond Green's game..Get KLove to the bench as a 8th man type and start Irving-Smith-Shump-Lebron-Mozgov..

this move has lebron written all over it...

Blatt had to go at some point, but terrible timing nonetheless.

Lue, I dont know how he's better than Blatt, but okay, I see it as giving coach lebron more room to operate and do his thing.... which ultimately doesn't solve the issue of respect Blatt had with the team... :noway:

If you guys aren't watching ESPN2 you should cause Haywood is on now basically saying Blatt was intimidated last year and Lue was the one in film study and practice holding Lebron and others accountable and Blatt was a bit hesitant. He also said Mo Williams and a few other bench players will probably see a lot more playing time cause Blatt's rotations are kinda crappy.

He also said that they abandoned Blatt's system during the year and switched to Doc Rivers style with Boston and LA that Lue brought in the second half of last season. Pretty interesting phone interview on Sportscenter

You know what? A few days ago I would've said no way. But nothing would surprise me anymore.

Lue can relate to the players better and he understands the league better ... This alone should make Cavs better team .

WHO WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE MOST? KEVIN, LEBRON, OR KYRIE?

i think lebron and/or kyrie.

seems to me the biggest scapegoat has been kevin because he has the worst numbers of the three. but if you ask me, he will only benefit if the other two change. seeing as how lebron's on-ball 60% of the time, and kyrie is on-ball 60% of the time (math?), that leaves nothing for the rest of the team,,,including kevin. so irving and james have to change the most.

but irving is a scorer. he shouldn't be on-ball that much if lebron is his teammate. lebron will ALWAYS get the most ball time, and that being the case he gets to decide where the ball goes. if lebron is such a great all-timer with a high bbIQ and a virtual renaissance man of basketball, a 5 position player who is a great enabler, then it makes all the sense to me that HE'S the one who has the ability to change more than the other two.

this has not been the case however, as other stars have had to change for HIM,,,bosh with miami and love with the cavs. this has made utterly no sense to me, because if lebron is adept at many skillful things then why is he making other less skillful stars change THEIR game?. magic johnson had a 19ppg career because he had other stars. lebron has had a career 27ppg and he currently has two 25ppg teammates.

lebron looks to score too much. he should save his mojo for other impactful endeavors.

Missed that interview, thanks for the insight. Honestly it kind of makes sense the more you think about it.

This is the problem. That LeBron/Kyrie/Doc showcase my talents ISO ball is not gonna win titles in today's NBA. Doc won a title in Boston because that was a different era and he had an incredible roster, one that was loaded with excellent defenders. In LA Doc has been a disappointment and hasn't been able to do it with Blake Griffin, CP3, and DeAndre Jordan, three players who collectively are better than the current Cavs big three. Blatt has a system, a proven system, and the players (and apparently, at least one of the coaches) never bought into or executed the system. They may buy into Lue's system but that is a system for yesteryear - might as well bring in Mark Jackson or bring back Mike Brown.

How 'bout instead of pounding the rock, they pass it around and look for easy shots? I'm sure Blatt would love to see that.

PS the GM should fire himself for trading the #1 overall draft pick for a guy who only plays one side of the court - defense wins Championships.

Don't understand all this attention.
The experiment didn't work. Blatt was overmatched from the very beginning.

He never had respect from anyone because he had never worked at this level and that was a concern from the start.
That wouldn't be a death sentence alone, but he wasn't self aware enough to admit what he didn't know. He got overly defensive about his "experience" instead of having some humility and checking his ego.
If you watched the Cavs, sure they were successful, but that was clearly despite of Blatt and not because of him.
Not once did he do anything that made me think he was the genius we were told he was. In fact he had absolutely no clue about rotations, which players need to prepare themselves, and no clue about game flow. Too many times he gave up momentum because he sat a star player and somehow forgot he was on the roster. The Cavs have an awesome, experienced group of coaches behind Blatt but he seemed to not listen to any of them and even talk down and disrespectful to them. You can even see it in the short videos they're showing on sportscenter. Lue saved his ass several times - like when trying to call time outs he didn't have. People can defend his record or whatever they want but there are no examples of his having an impact. None. Zilch. Zero.

I've never ever ever agreed with Stephen A Smith before, but this should surprise or shock no one. If anything, Griffin gave him more time than he earned and I think the organization waited this long to try and time the spark they should get from the switch.
