Why not? It's been established that players talking to other players isn't something the NBA has the stomach to crack down on.

imagine that picture being DG in a couple seasons demanding a trade to somewhere else/ happiest I have ever seen him was on the bench in the pre Olympic Vegas vacation hanging out with his pals and he wasn't even getting any reps to speak of. How could that make you happy. I would have been steaming they invited me and didnt even play me much. what a clown

Setting aside the fact that your shtick is tired, do you ever wonder whether it's a good thing that a player is perfectly happy to be the best player on a really bad team? Like part of my issue with Sexton is that he doesn't seem discouraged so long as he gets his. I'd hope that all that losing at least led to some introspection as to whether there was anything he could do differently that might help the team win, and in three years, it really hasn't been there.

There's a lot more smoke coming out re: Beal. Boston is reportedly on his list. I wonder if the Cavs will get a call in terms of helping facilitate.

OK how about the fact that DG has NEVER shown any interest in the city outside of team sponsored events? how about he is entrenched in the culture of the types of players that demand trades and join up? He also is a Klutch client.
Maybe he is the exception and tbh I dont think he is going to prove great enough to even care if he asks out but as is right now his stock coming off a rise in rank season is more about his support team boosting his value and brand then what he actually brings to the table.

Players are going to take care of themselves its on the Cavs to build something these guys will want to stick around to be a part of.

But not sure what you expect during a pandemic ... beyond showing up at the hospital and attending a landry softball game.

Pistons locking in Cade this early kind of sucks for us. Anyone wanting Mobley now knows they have to go to #2 and has time to pepper the Rockets with trade offers all day.

I mean this fact that they are dropping this indicates they want more for the pick than they have been offered and think if they announce they are taking him maybe someone offers more... I don't doubt they will take him since he is the consensus 1 but there is little chance I believe they are locked in at all. This is very smoky room we are standing in and both the other of the top 3 are very much in contention still

They can pepper the Rockets for the next 6 hours, but what they can't do is guarantee that the Rockets end up with Jalen Green. Only the Raptors can guarantee they get Jalen Suggs.

When Atlanta traded down, pretty much their only worry in regards to ending up with Trae Young was the Cavs all the way back at 8. It's just too bad the Mavs weren't sleep walking on Doncic, otherwise maybe the Cavs would have had a shot; but figure our picks and swap rights for the next 2 to 4 years are going to Atlanta.

So Curry is signing a four year extension at $200M. Leonard is looking for a similar deal. CP3 is about to reup for $90M over three years. Lowry is looking for $75M over three years. Conley wants similar numbers. Dame is already on a supermax. The number of over 30 players who will be eating up just huge chunks of the cap in the NBA over the next 3-5 years is crazy.

Edit: Oh, and Butler is looking for a max extension.

I feel like the next generational changing of the guard could be precipitous and some of these teams are digging themselves in too deep.

Quite possibly, but maybe the rule changes are extending the career of players who would have been pretty much finished in their early 30's in the past.

The Nets are going to be extending Harden and Durant well into their mid-to-late 30s on max contracts. Have fun with that, Brooklyn!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Everyone else seems to want their very own Kevin Love contract…
