I'm assuming that Cedi and Hood, assuming he's signed, start. I'd start Nance as well but TT kind of sucks off the bench. He's much more effective playing next to Love than when he's the only big out there.

Last season was screwed the moment Kyrie demanded a trade. IT made a bad situation even worse and Wade was undercutting team chemistry in the locker room. I'm still kind of amazed we got back to the Finals given everything that happened. But yeah, it wasn't fun.

TT can rot on the bench. Nance actually has a bit of upside he just needs lots of work. Slowing that down for a guy that might marginally be better in the short term would be dumb.

I was fairly confident we’d make the finals all season coz Lebron but how we won 19/20 just made no sense at all. We were terrible before it and terrible after it. Came from nonwhere.

It will be interesting to see how we fill out the roster after training camp. Right now we only have 12 players / 13 if Hood is retained Okaro White's deal is not guaranteed, so it could be 11. + the 2 ,two way players.
I guess Mathias , Smith or Lee might have a shot from Cavs sl maybe a different sl player unsigned like undrafted sg's Malik Newman or E.C. Matthews could be picked up for TC and put in Canton. Not sure if any of the reports about vets like Babbitt and Booker are true, but I doubt it.

We can't trade TT now. I'm 50/50 on retiring his number tbh.

Personally surprised Thompson stopped at 2 punches...should have pile drive'd Greens head into the dance-floor sand, stuck a fufu drink umbrella in his arse and shot his way out of there

Does the Nwaba signing change anything for us? I think Hood is still unsigned, but I guess we are just trying to fill a roster with Nwaba. But is he anything to write home about?

Serviceable 3rd pg imo and potential back up to Sexton once Hill is traded at the dl. Don't see him being in the rotation until Hill is history though....
(but he can defend the 2 with his 7'ws length so this might be insurance for Smith and Hood as well).

Get the feeling Hood is going to drag this out. Not sure he is worth retaining if he is going to become a locker room cancer aka doesn't want to be here other than short term.

That's kind of where I'm at too. But, then I'm like he's got to put his best face on it during a contract year or he's really going to screw himself. Let him play on the Q.O.

Is it crazy to think the Cavs might be an above average team this year?

Love LeBron, but he was the main reason for the disappointing regular seasons IMO. I'm not as down on Lue as others - I think this year will be the real test with him as a head coach. Coaching LeBron is unlike anything that anyone has ever had to deal with.

It would take Sexton to be good, but being a high draft pick I think we're all counting on that.

Sexton
Hill/JR
Cedi
Love
Nance

Is a good run/hustle/defense focused lineup - and the depth behind them is not terrible.

Would you start Nance over Tristan? When Tristan was healthy and a bigger part of the line-up with Love, he put up some really good performances and if the Cavs decide they want to trade him, raising his value by putting him in the starting line-up to get more minutes would really help in that. I mean there will probably be plenty of minutes for Nance/Zizic at the 4/5 spots still, but no reason not to try and see if TT can increase his value before the trade deadline and if we can get something for him.

yeah depending on the progression of Preston which will likely be slow, Nance will probably back up Love at the 4.
Thompson will start at the 5 with Zizic off the bench.
a lot of guard play and sf position will be governed by match ups but I expect Sexton could get the starting gig pretty early on.
the versatility of Hill would allow him to play some off ball, but I'm curious to see if Osman has improved his jumper enough to move to the 2 more than the 3 where his defense will be even more amplified.
If we roll out a sl of
Hill,Smith,Korver,Love and TT i'd guess it wouldn't last long.

I originally had Tristan there but changed it to Nance because Sexton/Cedi/Love/Nance are probably the core building blocks. Probably start Tristan but hope that Nance gets more minutes overall.

With 96 minutes to be split between PF and C, I would assume about 56 of those would be used by Love/TT combo and then the final 40 split between Nance and Zizic to start so that we might be able to move TT without having to give up an asset if the goal is to eventually run with Nance over Thompson.
