Derrick Rose

Post#1 » by Seabass11 » Thu Aug 31, 2017 3:35 pm

How did he look last year? Looks like he had his best statistical season last year since 2011.

I'm holding out hope he can fill in nicely for IT while he's out...just wondering what people think is realistic.

Note : IF HE IS HEALTHY

He looked the same as he has post-ACL. Can't shoot 3s, doesn't play defense, and isn't a willing passer or a great playmaker. He can however still shoot the midrange, and drive and kick. And hes still a bit injury prone.

Regardless him and Lebron are a terrible fit, and Rose would be at his best off the bench while Lebron sits. If Cleveland can pick up some random 3-D PG that'd be nice

hes really not good though and I'd be worried for Cleveland if hes actually the starting PG for half the season

One problem here - he doesn't drive and kick. He drives but the ball doesn't come back out most of the time. He looked off more passes than any other PG I've ever seen.

Call me crazy but I think he will have a good year. This offseason was a reality check for him (he thought he could get a max contract) and I think DRose (and his entourage) realizes he's one team away from china if he doesnt get his act together.
I think he'll be a high-end 6th men.

I hope for Rose's sake that is the truth.

I think with better options around him on the team, he will be a willing passer. In NY, he deferrred way too much with Melo and after ACL, Bulls weren't the same team either with not that many options especially 3pt shooters.

With having 3pt shooters around him, not only he will have much easier time breaking down the defense and either finish or pass it to 3pt shooters. Not to mention, playing next to LeBron will be great for him.

I see Rose having a great season this year if anything.

Rose is the ideal sixth man. I'd trust him better to get those one on one ISO buckets, than let's say Jamal Crawford chucking tough shots.

This is probably the ideal situation for him. I think he'll play well enough the question is can he stay healthy while IT is recovering.

Maybe a prototypical 6th man, but he's certainly not ideal. The whole inefficient iso scoring guy off the bench is just a trend that will eventually be phased out.

Werd.

Also on a one-year contract. He'll be out to prove himself.

A little advice to Cav fans...Just expect the worse. It will be better that way when you see how much he sucks these days and also can't stay healthy...I know its harsh but its the truth

For the record I hope I am wrong about this

He's been either garbage or injured every year for the past five years. There's no reason to expect differently this year.

Knick fans got upset when he was injured, because him not playing hurt the tank.

He's an ideal starting PG for the Cavs if they trade Lebron and are going for the #1 pick.
