Perhaps. I mean I don't have a lot of interest in handing IT a big contract anyway.

I think the odds Charlotte would trade Kemba = 50:1 without a serious return which we would not be offering in most cases ( unless IT cannot return)
I would take a healthy Kemba over an Injury returning IT right now,but this org would not do that because the upgrade is only the immediate need filled with similar defensive weakness'.

Well at least if we lose today, we gift Dallas a win and get them closer to the Nets' record so there's that.

Listen this could be turned around but we better pray it comes back 100% and we also better pray that they make a miracle trade like the first year because if not this team is going nowhere they won't make the finals with just a healthy it and I can promise you that

Finals? Oh you thought getting there was a given the past 3 seasons even though in 15 we struggled early and had injuries late and still got there? Kyrie was your guy eh,well blame yourself for not knowing how to read people
This team has enough skill to be a contender, but expectation of the Finals this year or in any of the years since LeBron returned are never something I would suggest or have advocated ,so you and others like you that are acting like the roster and how it's utilized when we fail this early in the season is any indication of what the ceiling is for this team today is a very small argument because the same pessimism comes from poor recognition of individual players when they fail like when they're in a slump as opposed to in a system they are not used to or worse also playing out of position but then when they're out of the slump they're out of it.
When they figure it out they figure it out.
None of these problems are the players ability to convert , it's just been lack of motivation because of boredom and lack of familiarity with each other prolonged as the line ups are juggled positions are changed and the age of the team and health issues.
Personally I think that each player on this team at least in the rotations is going to understand what his teammates are doing no matter what position he is playing Lue is raising the IQ , so I suggest you watch and learn

Exactly. This team is 2015 BEFORE the trades. If IT comes back that solves the backcourt issues. We still have to make a Mozgov move the way this team is constructed. If lebron would commit it wouldn't be a problem but now you have to consider keeping assets or its going to be a long ugly rebuild.

Frankly, the team is old whether LBJ leaves or stays. I think you have to find a way to get good young players regardless. If PG goes on the block, I'd consider trading JR & the Brooklyn pick for him, or just Love straight up. But otherwise, there aren't a lot of guys even moving our assets for this season.

There's no way we can trade the Brooklyn pick, especially not for a guy who can just leave us this summer.

I can't see the Nets pick getting moved. It's a high upside, low cost asset (due to low rookie salary), and Dan would much rather have that than use it to get Boogie or PG and have to shell out tens of millions of dollars more in luxury tax alone to sign them.

Plus if LeBron leaves, it'll be nice to be able to build from a guy like Ayton/Bamba/Doncic.

Honestly, I'm not sure that Gilbert would trade it at all but I wouldn't trade it with K. Love. If we're trading it for Boogie, then TT would need to be in the out box. If we're trading it for PG, then JR would have to be in the out box.

My guess is this Front Office is content with the players we have from an offensive impact perspective because they clearly are much better individually than they have shown as a unit consistently this early in the season, so unless the offense doesn't begin to gel as a unit over the course of the next 20 games or so, the only upgrades we would be looking for is replacement level players for those who are coming up short and causing the cog in the unit. I am looking at Crowder who has struggled offensively as being the most likely to become expendable if a similar level defender with more reliable offense is available followed by Thompson who is already a liability offensively but would be difficult to replace as a 3 position defender unless a more balanced 5 offensively with only a slight drop in defensive versatility but an uptick in rim protection & similar offensive rebounding skills is viewed as more complimentary in the front court going forward regardless of what we would have to send out with Thompson for that to happen.
If we move Shumpert or Smith we will have to get a player in return who is just as impactful defensively , and to find one that is also an equal value or upgrade offensively seems unlikely without having to part with another player of draft pick that evens the trade and that just seems highly unlikely aside from our own first to get the OK from Gilbert. (unless it is a high level player on a multiyear contract that is under 25)
