Kevin Love was the target of ire during team meeting.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22184066/kevin-love-target-ire-cleveland-cavaliers-meeting
This team may be the most dysfunctional in the NBA. If this article is true then the team is borderline irreparable. Love has played out of position and he’s also been one of the most consistent Cavs this year. For him to get attacked for getting sick is hilarious given Rose disappeared after getting injured and received nothing but support. It wasn’t Love’s fault that they gave up 148 points and it isn’t his fault the team LeBron has approved of is full of redundant, one dimensional players led by a coach who looks lost. It’s no mystery why Kyrie left. Who in the hell would willingly want to play with a bunch of finger pointers?

LeBron needs to show better leadership. Shouting at team mates and blaming individuals does not help solve problems in the long term.

Re: Kevin Love was the target of ire during team meeting.
So they crept up next to the door and heard someone yelling at Kevin Love about being sick
And how we might have had a Fighter's chance.
Blah blah blah.....
It comes as no surprise and their nervous frustrations are natural after such a bad loss. It's
expected internally with this roster given the fact that the deadline is near. Always the case on a LeBron James roster where the finals and winning it it all is expected not just hoped for.
I immediately thought it was strange Love got pulled after 3 minutes. Figured he was getting traded. As soon as it was he's sick, I thought that's perfect sense by letting IT3 and his quest for gold put his $where his mouth is on a big stage where Love knew IT3 would fail. This team was solid with Love as the first option then we went into the IT3 is better give him the ball and let him work routine.Lebron has also handed him the keys to see if he's capable of the task.
My take away is the roster is full of players who know their goose could be cooked and end up on a bad team by the 8th,the rest is just Love and James trying to steer Altman on the right path and trading the selfish and still unhealthy IT3 asap.

I heard the meeting addressed a much wider range of issues. Players went at LBJ and Lue as well.

Lue isn’t the problem. The roster is full of bad contracts and the roster is full of one dimensional players. Korver, Smith, and Frye don’t play defense and are spot up three point specialists. Thompson is a rebound specialist and has a terrible contract. Players like Crowder are on a good contract but have not meshed well. Wade looks old and has obviously lost a step. Rose got injured retrieving the morning newspaper. Isiah Thomas is not being utilized well and might not ever be the same player. Love is one of the few players that has been consistent but he is playing out of position. Brad Stevens is not walking through that door. Irving is gone and seems to have great chemistry with his new team. People don’t want to admit this, but allowing LeBron to play GM, get his buddies huge contracts, and driving out the best player he has ever played with is on him. And he’s probably going to bolt and leave the franchise in ruins.

There's a lot of truth to all of this but I'm not convinced Lue isn't part of the problem. I think IT's a huge part of the problem as well. He can't start on this team without cratering our defense and he wants to get paid this summer. I saw this coming when the trade was made. I didn't see LBJ effectively tanking, and he is, in order to get IT shipped out.

my sentiments exactly, never seen Lebron play like this , so it has to be the case.

No one wants or needs IT. There are huge questions about his health due to his hip and then a team would have to give him a huge contract even if they’re convinced he’s going to be the same player he was before.

At a minimum, he's an expiring contract. I view him as a low-risk high-reward type for a bubble team.

Heart, professional pride, and self-awareness.
Seriously though, they have to get IT out of here. It would be addition by subtraction at this point. After that, or as a result of that, getting a rim protector and someone who could defend the PG position would be great.
I'd love to trade IT, JR, TT, & the Brooklyn 1st for Kemba and Howard.

IT is done. D-O-N-E. Apparently he was the ringleader when it came to calling Love out too.

should be traded not sure he will be ,I figured that's exactly what it was was going on. Love playing hooky exposed IT3 big time. I still believe it was intended.Absinthe wrote:IT is done. D-O-N-E. Apparently he was the ringleader when it came to calling Love out too.
LeBron sandbagging since IT3 has been playing is also an indication he expects IT3 to show up and deliver and anticipation is he will fail so LeBron also is intentionally contributing to steering the front office. Rumors of hill coming here reenforces that logic.

All of this drama has me in a bad mood. How does a team win 19 of 21 regardless of strength of schedule and then devolve into what we are seeing? A total lack of professionalism, that's how. Lue sucks, Lediva sucks, JR sucks, TT sucks, IT sucks. I don't see how Gilbert's head doesn't explode. He is paying lux tax on a bunch of bitches who make millions of dollars to make a fool of him and the fans of this team.
I wont buy a ticket until this team is dismantled. I work too hard for the money I earn in the real world to spend it on a bunch of whiney prima donnas that don't appreciate what they have. Screw this team. A bunch of losers if you ask me. F the Cavs.

An expiring contract who clears all of 6.5 million. Big deal.
LOL
Fat expiring contracts are much more intriguing because they wipe a huge amount of salary off your books.
At this point, IT has limited value for his on-court play, and almost no value as an expiring.

He still has value going forward for the next sucker gm that believe he's healthier than he is or could be useful in the playoffs off the bench etc.
The Cavs will continue to have problems with him in the starting lineup so his value is only going to plummet further going into the offseason he knows this and will probably concede to going to the bench stating that he is not healthy as he hoped and if he does eventually prove he has returned to form before the end of the season he might still get paid but as it stands right now I wouldn't give him a mop bucket let alone the keys to my roster unless I was tanking, because the odds are still 50/50 he may never be the Boston IT

If he's combined with a player who expires the following year and traded for a guy who has two seasons after this season left on his deal, you're talking about real money.

Re: Kevin Love was the target of ire during team meeting.
I've maintained that Isaiah Thomas is way overrated. Playing on Celtics under Brad Stevens severely inflated his value in a lot of people's eyes.
And now with him taking the lead in calling out Kevin Love, presumably trying to deflect blame away from himself, he looks like an extremely selfish person and locker room cancer as well.
At this point you really have to admire what the Celtics managed to pull off. Not only did they manage to land a great player in Kyrie, they took a pile of dung, dressed it up in gold dust, and traded it away as if it was actual gold. Same can be said of Jae Crowder, just to a lesser extent. Crowder is a solid role player, but Celtics made him look like a borderline star.
Not sure how Cavaliers get out of this mess. At this rate nobody wants IT, and starting him at PG is obviously doing the team more harm than good. I suppose Cavaliers should just trade him for whatever little value they can get and just cut their losses before the entire season gets derailed, if it hasn't already been
