Going to be a tough game, but I still like our chances if we take care of the ball and stay locked in on defense. Nuggets are not a good defensive team.

Dekker is a bad rebounder.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

This looks like a completely different team under Drew. Of course we jumped all over the other team early with Lue and then just gave it all away.

Every time I think Dekker is playing well enough that he might carve out a rotation role, he does something like rotate off his own man 10 feet away from the basket and allows an uncontested layup.

Sexton needs to flop a little when the other team uses a moving screen against him. He doesn't have to go all Marcus Smart, but you've got to emphasize that contact.

Watching how Denver's entire offense is essentially predicated on Jokic passing out of the double team causes me no small amount of frustration given the fact that K. Love is playing in his 4th season here and our team reacts like they've never played basketball whenever Love gets doubled.

So I"m going to go ahead and post my post game thoughts with 5:00 minutes left. We're not a good team without Love. I'm not sure we're a good team with him, but we're definitely not good without him. It shows when we play a good team.
Our defensive rebounding was atrocious tonight. Defensive rebounding is going to be more important than ever given the freedom of movement rules. It's hard enough to get a stop the way the game is officiated now. If you can't end a possession, you've got not shot.
Officiating - the NBA has to clean up the other side of the game now or they'll have an unwatchable product. Denver had way too many trips to the line as a result of the offensive player initiating contact. The offensive player can still use his off arm and not get called. They're still don't call hooks, illegal screens, or when an off the ball player seals a defender. I'll be curious how the post-season is officiated because I can't imagine the no-stops-league is allowed to continue into the playoffs.
I don't know why Nwaba doesn't get more run but it sure seemed liked we could've used his physicality to help on the boards.
I'm pretty sure that our biggest offensive threat is Jordan Clarkson. Let that sink in.
Korver needs to be traded. He's not the same player absent a guy like LBJ who routinely commands a double.
Denver had 44 rebounds. Cavs had 35, four of which came in garbage time.

Wow Denver is much better defensively than they were last season.
The poor decision making is killing us right now, turnovers, lack of efficient ball movement, lack of communication, lack of chemistry etc. All that will take longer to achieve with Hill and Korver being the only 2 vets ever seeing the court.
I'm starting to warm up to the idea that this org is willing to play bad all season playing lesser developed youth if thats what it takes for the young core to develop, problem with that philosophy is they could easily develop bad habits that don't fast-forward a retool process.I was really hoping the team with a good mix of young and old would be sustainable.
Maybe once the coaching job is set in stone this team will have some direction and work out a decent book of sets
that can maximize the current rotations , until then this team will be enjoying small victories on the road to a high lottery selection next summer.

Been following Clarkson. He and Nwaba have great chemistry since their LA days and I think Drew should let those two soak the most guard minutes.
Would rather boost the trade value of those with potential use to other teams than give them less PT while the players playing over them play like sht.
