Always get excited for the opener. Reality can wait (hopefully) for another game. Looking forward to seeing Garland play in a real game.

I know Cedi has to rest, but you can't put KPJ on Gordon

Conditioning really showing up now. Our guys are gassed. Clarkson is having an awful game. TT and Love look worn out.

The Magic have three seven footers and two of them are athletic rim protectors. It's hard to judge whether our offense is really this shaky or not.

That said, Sexton should be going hard at Founier when Vuc is on the floor. If Isaac comes to help, there's a big near the basket who's unguarded. System offenses are fine but you need to have enough flex in them that you can pick up that free money.

Again, our staters are playing well out of the gate. Isaac picking up his 4th foul doesn't hurt.

the adjustment in the 3rd defensively put them back in it. overall so far im not a huge fan of garlands pace, as it pertains to the rest of the players on the floor. needs to pick it up some imo

If our season look like this where they are able to make adjustments are in competitive spots throughout and see play growth, I'd be perfectly fine with being a top 3-5 team. I just hate seeing those teams that toss out teams that get blown out by 20+ every night and pick top 3-5 as it doesn't let you see what you have or how to make the required adjustments.

Cavs desperately need a rim protector with Sexton and Garland in the back court. TT and Nance are okay help defenders but the really don't have the lengthy to block anyone from behind. Love is Love on defense.

Kevin Love commands so much attention from the other team's defense. It really makes a difference with TT as to whether he's out there with Nance or Love.

Garland needs to catch and shoot from 3. He waits for the defender to recover so he can drive on him.

Same. So long as I see continued growth from the young guys I'm good.

I think considering this was against a very good Orlando team from last year, I'm pretty happy with the results from tonight. First game of the season, the young players looked capable of playing in the NBA, even if things were always falling/going their way tonight, the offense looked like an actual system, and the defense was much better than last season even so far though still a long ways to go.

Garland looked pretty bad on defense tbh. I was encouraged by Sexton stepping it up a notch.

I'm pretty sure he only made one all game. He might have to take them when he's out there with TT though. We already have Delly, Clarkson, and Cedi who are pretty meh from 3 and obviously TT knows better.

I feel like Love, Garland and Sexton need to take more threes in order to better space the floor. The Magic were collapsing 4 guys into the paint all night.

Darius needs to spam the P&R and P&P button more, and just let it fire when the big sits back and he's going to do some damage that just might exceed the damage he's doing on D.

Keep in mind he's playing his way in to game shape ... so I'm expecting big things.

i like garlands upside but much in the same way as sexton had a long learning curve i think if they keep Garland as a starter having the much faster paced Sexton held on a governor all season it will prove better for Garland long term, despite being labelled a bust a strong possibility if his shot aint falling and Love aint more than a statistic... and i fear Sexton will lose his mojo some in a lesser role.
if it were me just based on the one game which is premature u would not use Sexton off ball next to Garland all of the time... off ball next to Delly or Knight on the faster 2nd unit makes more sense for everyone at least until they see what they got with Garland. The other option is for Beilein to push DG to **** pick up the pace with Sexton on the starting line up or get out of Colin's way and be a catch and shoot option playing off Sexton at least until DG is up to snuff physically.
Right now i see a little bit of locker oom grumbling already from Knight who had a solid camp esp after getting no shine while others got chops in.
