i know Beilein has to be patient but if garland wants to secure starter minutes in the near future this probably is his last game to show him something more to justify it over kpj

well I find it interesting that Garland plays better off ball next to Clarkson than he does dribbling and scoping.
I really think it would be best for him to be out there in that role next to JC for awhile he clearly has less pressure and can see where he needs to be in that lesser role shoots better etc. still a turnstyle defensively though

JC is a prober and will hit the open guy. I notice his chucker mode is on whenever he doesn't get the chance to facilitate. I agree that him and Garland should benefit Garland more. Perhaps switch Clarkson and Sexton in the meantime? Young Bull will no doubt destroy opposing teams' bench guys with his relentless attacks. Imagine Lou Will but instead of foul baits from midrange Js, it's from bully ball drives.

Beilein is starting to mix it up more past few games and most of the time garland isnt good enough defensively to stay in against good starters so he starts and is usually first to the bench but when he is playing with clarkson hes better.
i dont see them moving jc into the sl but i do see sexton kpj back court working against starters defensively.

With the exception of Dallas, we've played far better against Western Conference teams this year.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

San Antonio and Houston are pretty bad on defense this season and they don't have the kind of length that some of the East teams have, so it gives a shot to execute some stuff.

And go figure ... when the Cavs see the ball go in the hoop they give more effort.

I'm not sure what to make with how we've won two of our games on the 2nd night of back to back, though. Kevin even played 70 minutes in the two games when we'd been "load managing him".

If the rumors are true and he's been asking out but team's have been asking us for a pick; maybe both sides have agreed to "showcase" him.

Sure, if we were trying to win games, we'd use Garland like he was rookie Boobie Gibson; but as long as he's viewed as the team's PG of the future he needs to continue to initiate offense. The good news is even Boobie Gibson eventually improved on defense as his rookie season went along.
