Beilein basically said in the post game press conference that the way the roster is presently constructed isn't going to work. He's not wrong. We can forget about starting Sexton and Garland. One of them needs to go to the bench. Both Garland and KPJ need to put some real work in on the defensive side of the ball this summer. Garland needs to beef up a little. It's time to move on from TT. I've had enough of a starting center who offers such limited rim protection.
If you ignore the stats of the guy who he was supposed to guard, yeah. When Sexton tries hard on defense and tries to do less on defense, the team does better.Revenged25 wrote:I didn't get to see the game, but did Sexton play as well as the box score would suggest? I saw at half-time his numbers were pretty damn amazing, though they came back down to earth by the end, it still looked like a great overall showing for him.

But setting him aside, it's absurd that we gave up that money points and no one got into foul trouble. I mean where is the professional pride? Just how soft is this team?

Looks like Love, Thompson, Nance, and Henson committed a grand total of 2 of the team's 15 fouls.![]()
It's hard to foul when you're doing your best to stay out of the way.

GS made 10 3 pointers in the third so it's not just the big guys who should've had more fouls.

We stink at defense. Commiting some hard fouls isn't going to do anything besides put a smile on Austin's face.
It's almost like JB Bickerstaff was put in place by the FO to help us tank this season.
Not having to leave the game due to foul trouble is about the only improvement we've seen on D this season.

If I'm getting run out of the gym by the worst team in the league, having to leave the game due to foul trouble is a bonus tbh. Also, the number of Cavs fans who convinced themselves that our assistant coach from last year was the problem on defense seems pretty hilarious right now.
