So I am starting to think KLoves minor injury has the potential to turn into a season long one esp knowing how dedicated this coach is to high energy defense. I mean if for no other reason you prevent him from getting really hurt because this style of play almost guarantees he will

you cannot force them to play like that when they are not conditioned for it ...not smart

I'm impressed... More injuries to come for sure but the intensity and fight is all this team has to hang their hat on and that's enough

I was at the game. It was a blast.

I genuinely feel bad for Drummond re the way the league is officiated now. Smaller guys are allowed to foul him with impunity. It's really obvious in person.

I would love for them to add Okongwu to Love Drummond and Nance once TT leaves , might need a top 5 pick though the way hes been balling,definitely a sleeper option. I mean Nance and Okongwu long term front court is exceptionally athletic

Oh, I think Drummond is following TT out by the deadline if not before. The rule changes and the way the game is officiated isn't his fault, but it is reality. You really can't justify more than a bench or situational starter role for guys like that any more. What's that worth in terms of cap space?

Yeah I am banking on Okongwu being a Bam level offensive player in time. He never shoots 3s but he has it in his skill set I guess usc don't want him taking them or something. Obviously he is a Noel level shot blocker but far more than that

My impression watching Andre over the years (with Reggie last) was that he was a pretty effective P&R player.

I have no clue why the Cavs aren't running more P&R now that they have Andre, certainly it wasn't something that was featured in the offense before; but shouldn't they be working on it?

I wonder if that was the first time all season the Cavs went tall and played that lineup? Looks like the first dividends from JBB's willingness to experiment. It really does help a lot to play lineups that have some basic ability to defend.

It helps when you've got four guys who can switch. I'm not sure whether playing three bigs is a long term solution but it was certainly more than that Heat line up could handle.

Yeah, I think it was mostly a function of their surprising willingness to help each other and the fact that Heat group was not very talented individually. I mean there's a lot of players you wouldn't want to switch Love or Garland on to, and quite a few that neither Larry nor Tristan can handle either. KPJ shows a lot of promise as a defender, but he's going to be taken to "school" a lot too before we can call him a good defender.

Anyway, if JBB is actually a good coach, all he should need is to get a feel for what he's working with, and then he can adjust his lineups based on what will work at the time. That alone would be a big improvement.

Funny thing ... supposedly JBB was already managing the lineups. If he was given the freedom to do that, but not the freedom to try different things out ... that'd be pretty bizarre.

Nice finish but probably the only time we surprise a good team with that kind of intensity with any success. Miami was down their leader too.
I can't get too excited from a jbb standpoint just yet given there is no pattern to expect at this time, but I did like seeing Garland forced to step up even though it was KPJ and Larry that made the biggest difference when Miami had to put it's starters back in.
