Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Clearly a big like Allen helps our Guards immensely.
I dont like the chances of the season completing with current downward trend of virus spread etc but man they look good in these past two games since the Nets trade. Almost makes me not care KPJ is out.

He's actually been on the bench, I imagine we'll hear he's practicing with the team soon. Hopefully back on the floor in a week or two.
Hard to believe after all these years, we didn't get just 1 but we now have 3 rim protectors we can potentially pair him with depending what fits best.
I thought Chron's Disease would limit how much we could play Larry, but he's been playing great starting at PF this season. It would be tempting to keep him paired with Andre, and let Love play with Allen.
And unless we owe him a favor or get a sweetheart offer, it would be nice to hold on to McGee for depth and back-to-backs for as long as it looks like we're heading for the playoffs.
And because of the wacky schedule, there's a fair chance our depth will help us make the playoffs this season. The Nets resting Durant in order to play him tonight .vs. Miami is an example of how that plays to our advantage.

I’m hoping Bolden is picking up some stuff in practice/film with these other bigs. Could be backing up Allen next season perhaps.

I don't think he's an NBA player.Harper4Ferry? wrote:I’m hoping Bolden is picking up some stuff in practice/film with these other bigs. Could be backing up Allen next season perhaps.

I can't tell if Bolden has the highest skill level, but in the small amount of action I have seen from him it looks like the effort and bball iq are there. He seems to know where to be on D, and doesn't look to do things on offense that he can't. Again its a small sample size against mostly 2nd unit guys but he seems to be the kind of effort player that I root for.

For a 12 minute a night role? Maybe ... but given how many decent C's have ended up signing for the vet min, it might just be something we have to be patient to address if we lose Drummond and McGee.
And if either of them finish the season with the Cavs, their Bird rights may be enough to get one of them back on a favorable deal if they can't find a chair that will pay them more than the MLE when the free-agent music stops playing.
