Delly to retire/still can't play?

Post#1 » by Harper4Ferry? » Fri Feb 5, 2021 2:48 pm

Can't find the Yahoo Sports link, but supposedly he's still unable to train and feeling after effects of the concussion after 2 months. Hoping he won't suffer long term post-basketball damage. I think he'll have a good coaching career if he wants it.

it's like a link of a link here-

Hes probably had quite a few given his multi sport background etc. After about 4 or 5 there seems to ve a trend with memory function issues. If hes out soley because of the trauma residual and not organizational decisions id say its going to be a sad outcome

It sucks. You don't want to see a player end his career this way.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

otoh, better he end his career and move on to the next stage of it (he can surely get a coaching job on at least two continents) then suffer a permanent decrease in brain function.

Thanks to Milwaukee, he's already earned $40M.

I'd like to be optimistic that he will be able to be a coach etc, but even lower grade ones esp a lot of them can cause long term ALMS

That’s a shame. Delly embodied the grit of Cleveland and it’s sad that he won’t get to walk off the court appreciating the moment.

I know for most of us, we didn’t know that the last game was our last game, but it doesn’t suck any less.

I'm sure Delly will be back, one way or another. If not as a player or an assistant, then perhaps a Delly night, or championship reunion or other observation.
