Cavs might actually be able to win 2 in a row.

Tate is somebody I would love the Cavs to pick up when available. That being said I was hoping to see some KPJ but I guess its too soon.

I don't understand how players like Tucker and Theil foul in such obvious ways and not get called. There's nothing sneaky about it. Tucker's tossing Allen around like a bag of laundry.

A lineup with Datsun, Sexton, Garland, and Stevens feels like tank mode activated.

If Allen will take a five year deal, I'm giving it to him.

Being able to use Sexton DG Okoro and Windler with JFro is going to be rare but that really helps the spacing

Think he'll take Capela's deal of 5/90?

I think it takes at least $100M over 5.

He's had some great games recently sure, but he's still only averaging about 13/10. Unless some team offers him a larger contract I think 5/90 is the right price but slightly overpaying at 5/100-110 wouldn't handicap the team's future prospects. Past that and it starts getting ugly.

The alternative is you take your chances that you end up matching an offer sheet from a team like the Bulls.

That's why it's call negotiations. Try to get him at 5/90 but be willing to go up to 5/110 and if it goes higher then it's not worth it unless he finishes the season playing the way he has the past few games.

I don't think we have a problem if Allen is asking $100M/5. He's a RFA so there will be the usual dance, but hopefully it goes smoothly.
What's his max contract going to be?
btw, his per36 numbers as a Cav are 19 & 12 with 2.5 blocks, made 3 of 6 of this 3pt attempts, has a .707 TS% on a team that invites opponents to pack the paint.
The only sour note is his +/- but there are enough extenuating circumstances to not over-value that at this point.
It really helps to be playing teams closer to our level like Atlanta and Houston, and to provide some floor spacing; albeit I suppose we can't count on Wade and Windler being perfect from 3pt every game ...

If Cavs dont make a leap next season into 8th seed category I dont see him necessarily wanting to stay, but maybe by this time next season enough improvement and roster gelling will have happened. I'd pay him whatever he wants if this current sample size is legit

Well Allen will need to sign an extension this off-season so whether he wants to stay next year is of less importance since at the very least they can get the assets they spent to get him back.

It would be another Cavs failure of epic proportions if one of our young players demands a trade just one year in to his first non-rookie contract. Kyrie's a flake who supposedly wasn't happy even after winning a championship. If Allen doesn't want stick it out after being made a starter and presumably handed a big contract, we might as well flush the team and start over gain.

I think he might want to stay but I also think if they are not winning he might not be as valuable to the org after all anyway either. But right now he looks like a damn good pick up worth maxing
