Mobley at SF?

When Mobley was drafted, I considered him to the best player in the draft. However, I also envisioned him as a SF in the same style of KD. Regardless of position, I saw him with the ball making plays.
So is it possible to bring in a PF this year (or a hybrid type P/S forward) and have the team run?
Also, would any team be willing to go after Miles Bridges on the cheap?

We don't really support Miles Bridges here so we are good on that.
The Mobley SF thing is possible, but not super viable on our current roster (at least imo). His best pairing would be Love, but we prefer Mobley in that spot on defense so he can be a weakside helper and closer to the paint even if he can keep up with wings/guards. He is more useful there with our current roster.

I think it should be something we run in case we want to use it in the playoffs against Philly (hide Love on Tucker), Boston (Mobley gets Tatum), or Milwaukee (Love on Lopez). Love may be more hideable against starters than against a small-ball bench.

Last we saw of Evan as a rookie he was still learning things like how to dribble without turning the ball over and shoot consistently ... but I don't think the Cavs are going to force feed him or hold him back. He's comfortable at PF but at times will be asked to do things out of his comfort zone to push him.
You might recall, the Thunder were playing KD at SG as a rookie because nobody felt he was strong enough to play SF.
Evan's best bet to get experience as a playmaker is if the Cavs stick with a movement based offense, otherwise he'll be waiting his turn behind Garland, Mitchell, and maybe LeVert too.

The pain point there is that Mobley cannot shoot the 3… yet, so you are forced to pair him with a stretch 4z. I suspect it looks a lot like The Lauri/Evan front court of last year. And I’m not sure it’s materially different than a Wade/Mobley pairing this year.
You’re effectively just asking Mobley to pick up the tougher defensive assignment.

Miles should / hopefully will be in prison so let’s just not even go there.
The best thing about Mobley is that he doesn’t need a position. You can fit him into just about anything.

Personally, I think in the future you are more likely to see him playing center than small forward

It would have to be a part of a 3 towers things again. And that 3rd tower would really need to be able to shoot and guard the 3 while still being a presence in the paint. But that guy is not on the roster. If we trade for Turner or Horford or the like, that is a better player than our starting SF options, then sure, put your best 5 out there.
But Mobley is such a good help defender from that PF spot that Mobley at the 4 with an average 3&D SF might be more impact than Mobley at the 3 with a good 3&D PF. Putting Mobley in the best position to succeed is the priority so keeping him at the 4 gets more emphasis I would think.
So it is viable, but not likely to be the targeted solution.

Mobley can guard the 3 in certain matchups, Wade can guard most 4s, but Mobley is a 4 offensively.
