Both teams cannot miss from three, but Clippers are doing a great job getting in the lane and kicking out after our help. The weakside defenders need to do a better job zoning up and whoever needs to help them after the pass needs to get there quicker. The first possession of the game showed us doing this well, but a lot of threes have been off these actions after slow rotations.

PG is also hitting everything so there is that.

Hornets fan with a genuine question...how much do you guys hate LeVert?

Was ready to type out that I was proud of our team for winning a shoot out, but some awkward offense to end the game lead to the Clippers getting back. GG to the guys and they'll learn something from this one.

I think JBB rode the guys too hard this time and the failed challenge and the timeout he used to get them a breather were costly. B2B is a great opportunity to get some energy from a bench player.

It almost worked, but the injury risk concerns me most of all.

Windhorst was just on the radio today explaining that veiled by this win streak was the Cavs scoring struggles in the 4th quarter. He basically put it on Mobley/Garland needing to grow more.

While I think there's some truth to that, especially Mobley, I think the spacing is just to jacked with LeVert out there.

We really need to look for a trade partner for Lavert. He does a have a very attractive 18 mil expiring. I cant deal with with 20 one game and then a 4 pt game on the road in LA. He was actually trying on D in the lakers game, but his in consistency is just too much for me being a major part of our team

Consistency always been his issue.

I'm still a little wishy-washy on his role currently, but I think LeVert has become underrated by all fans (Cavs and not) due to his reputation. Put a lot of this info in the other thread, but LeVert has been doing all the things that fans (including myself) have been wanting him to do. He's playing good team defense and respectable man defense. He's taking less pull-up threes. He's been shooting more C&S threes (2.86 per 36 as compared to 2.14 and 2.56 in 2021-22 and 2020-21 respectively) at 44%. Over the past three years, he is now up to 38.0% average on his C&S. He has also not been a ballstopper and has been a connective tissue within the offense.

A lot of what he brings to our starting line-up is tertiary playmaking which is an incredible luxury to have when your best two offense players are incredible on and off the ball.

His main problem is that he can be schemed against offensively, but that should be okay for a player of his stature. He's a little above being a good role-player imo.

There definitely was some odd calls down the stretch as well that helped the Clippers get back, but we had costly turnovers and many empty possessions. We also had Mobley in foul trouble which is never fun for our defense.

Second loss to a long, switchy team that turns up their aggressiveness at the end.

JBB needs to consider if he's happy with how the team is running clock at the end of games .vs. executing offense.

I've seen LeBron strangle teams at the end of games with the tactic many times, so I realize it can work; but counting on hero shots or even favorable whistles on the 2nd night of a b2b, on the road, when you've already leaned heavily on Love, Mitchell, and Garland seems to set up this sort of opponent .vs. the scoreboard .vs. the clock situation.

Also while his season has just gotten started, it's worth noting Garland has not fit in seamlessly, his stats are down, turnovers up, and the starting unit (we want to close games) is -10.1 pp100 in 62 minutes so far.

I'm also concerned with how Evan has been fitting in. In this game we ran a ton of offense through him and he responded by scoring 26pts on 18shots but he was -20 and on the season we've been 26.6 pp100 better when he's been off the floor compared to on.

I suppose we should be happy we're 8-2 when we still have things to work out or shake out, but it's easy to get greedy.

This is JB's 4th season as the Cavs HC, this is how he closes games.

But for instance, he doesn't have to go back to the starters to close games, or maybe he needs to change his starters. We're not far enough in to the season for these things to be set in stone.

And who knows, maybe Luke Walton will mention that Steve Kerr won a lot of games and still found a way to give Steph a break between quarters.

Donovan had a big deja vu fourth quarter. He experienced the Jazz implode like that about fifteen times last year.
