Re: Game 17: Pelicans @ Cavs 11/20/2024
So we've got Mitchell, Mobley, Allen, Jerome, CPJ, Niang from our top 12? Tyson and Travers likely to get minutes, and TT and Thor possibly too given how much Mitchell and Mobley played last night.

I'm actually excited to see Tyson and hopefully Travers get some extended run. Even if its against a crazy injured Pels squad.

Wait, Tyson is starting?

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I didn't even know Elfrid Payton was still in the league, let alone back on the Pels.

Tyson is a legitimate rotation player already. Travers less so. TT is washed. It's a bad sign for Thor that he's behind him on the depth chart.

Games like this under jb, the starters would all play 36+ minutes lol so glad to have a HC with some common sense now.

Honestly, it almost felt like the coaching staff was sandbagging with that zone and perpetual three guard lineup.

Thor is better than the current version of TT and should get run.

Re: Game 17: Pelicans @ Cavs 11/20/2024
I can't believe Kenny played one of our starters almost 40 minutes in this game
Tyson looked really good. I'm a little worried about his footspeed on defense and his athleticism at the rim, but he made some really good reads throughout the game that I have no doubt that he'll be a contributor. I def don't think he should enter the regular line-up this year, but if injuries pop up I like him as one of the first options.
Travers was eh

I love me some Tyson I think he takes Leverts role next year or two. Travers could take Wade's role one day but he will need to be able to shoot better.

There are currently too many bodies in front of Tyson, but I think the Cavs have a decision to make on LeVert no later than next summer with Mobley’s extension kicking in and the emergence of Ty Jerome. Merrill, Jerome, and LeVert are all on expiring contracts. Merrill and Jerome will get offers above what they're making now.
One approach would to let the season play out however it plays out, but they should probably force feed Thor some minutes so they know whether they have a viable backup big, or not, ahead of the deadline.

Jerome is going to be more expensive than the Early Bird rights we have for him next off-season.

Well that sucks. We could still sign him with TMLE, yes? If we don't have LeVert's cap hold?

Can’t the Cavs go up 105% of the 2024 NBA average salary?
