Niang really shouldn't play more than 10-15mpg. He can put together a decent 10+ minutes, but after that the suckage seeps out.

Both losses on Garland… pathetic. Donovan wasnt much better… such lackluster play.

Maybe they had too many days off, or maybe their shooting is coming back down to Earth.

It's weird how it played out like a back to back. The Cavs came out on fire in the first quarter and the bench went on a nice run, but the Hawks made their shots and were aggressive taking it right at our rim protectors and making some tough shots. We didn't finish strong like we had been doing.

A taste of our own medicine I suppose.

Well, we get another shot at them tomorrow afternoon. We'll see if Kenny can make some adjustments.

I think getting some of our wings back, could be beneficial, long term.

It's very possible during the holiday week that the players had a bunch of non-basketball stuff going on that made them tired mentally. Allen and Garland had Thanksgiving event appearances, for instance. Being mentally tired can make you a step slow.

Just gotta get dialed back in, hope the refs don't hate us for whatever reason, and keep the other team from their unreasonably hot shooting.

All of Wade, Strus, and even Levert being out is starting to catch up with us. The guy with the worse +/- was actually Ty Jerome and Niang is playing way too many minutes. We're at a place where we can't rotate bench guys out when they don't have it. Garland and Mitchell being a combined 6-21 from 3 certainly didn't help, but guys like Merrill and Niang have to hit from outside just to be nuetral on the court (and they haven't been).

I'm growing increasingly worried about Wade's availability. We might have to make a trade to shore up our backup big rotation.

I agree, Wade seems more injured than not and has been that way all along.

Also whatsup with Darius ? Did the weak shooting vs Boston create some mentality issues for him ? The way we are looking we might lose a couple more games in a row with Boston in sight…

I mean that was the first bad shooting night since Boston (Mitchell actually shot much worse from outside last night). Part of the problem is that the Hawks were dropping 4 guys into the paint which will happen when the Cavs take more than 50 3-pointers and don't even hit 30% of them.

The Hawks scored 134 points and just killed us from the corners. That's a game where Niang and Merrill go sit down if their shots aren't falling but they're left out there because we just don't the bodies. If you can't get stops, you press, and when you press into a crowded paint because no one can hit a shot, you're going to go through some things.

The easy thing I suppose is to credit the Hawks for having decent length (other than Trae), but Garland has been playing through some stuff and it takes a toll makes him inconsistent.
