A 2:30pm tip for this matinee.
Wade and Strus are out, LeVert is questionable.
Strus will allegedly be reevaluated tomorrow, so hopefully a more firm timeline can be established for his return.

Kokoro made the start.
Hi guys... kinda surprised to be just the second here.
Maybe this is a very friendly timetable for overseas audience as myself but not so comfortable for american viewers.

Day after Thanksgiving too, so probably plays a part.
Down almost 20 points in the 3rd, Hawks have our number this season, it has gotta be their length. Although i did hear Kenny say post game Wednesday that Hawks like to push the pace.

Allen needs more than 3 FGA with 5 minutes left in the 4th and someone besides Garland needs to make a shot.

Playing Niang heavy minutes is like using a hand-held multi-tool to cut all the lumber needed to frame out a house. It doesn't work and it's painful to watch.
Edit: Also, does Thor suck THAT bad? He can't get in the game for 4 minutes a half?

Yeah, these last 2 losses to the Hawks just from the box feel like a revert to the old Cavs style from 5 years past.
If Mitchell doesn't have it, stop shooting. 5 of 23 is atrocious.

Its good we are facing such adversity early on in the season, its a long season, time to tighten up our rotations and build from here… the fairytale start is done and dusted with now we need to improve.

There are two main factors coming to my mind in order to racionalize these couple NBAtlanta Cup games:
1) CLE don't give a damn about winning this tournament.
2) SociopathEyes Snyder is who better know Spida Mitchell from all NBA coaches.
Atkinson for a first.

Well, I said this in another thread, but new offensive/defensive systems don't usually just slap in to place. Once teams have a chance to scout what you're doing and the scorching hot shooting turns cold, it's time to throw another layer in.
Not to mention the open 3's we're giving up are a major problem when we're not pouring them in ourselves at an even higher rate.

Yeah, i gotta say, I've been full team Kenny all summer and the first 25% of the season. However, i do not love the idea of losing to the same team, in the same way, a couple days apart. Need adjustments.

That is not what this means lol you do not tighten your rotation in November... There are literally still 62 games left in the season. Cavs just need to get healthy so Tyson isn't in the top 10 and also get healthy so Strus or Wade can start at 3, Okoro ain't it.

What i tried to mean by tighten is get the minutes and rotations correct… niang cant play such long mins.

One advantage Kenny has is because he's playing so many different players, he can see them perform over an extended period of time in different situations.
It's a challenge though.
During the early LeBron years every season would start off with hopes for some kind of new motion based offense, but then after a few losses the team would revert to LeISO.
There's no LeBron-sized personality on this team, though, and hopefully they'll be patient as they work through this. And if they can't even after Wade and Strus return, well, then it's Koby's turn next.

I did hear Kenny say after Wednesday's loss that the offense went back to being pick and roll heavy in the 4th.
It's almost like the Cavs were doing better with no rest. As soon as they got rest and what not, the losses poured in.

Mitchell shooting poorly isn't helping but our defense is the problem. We're giving up too many corner threes.

Yep. Part of it is that Trae is a good PG who is great at finding that open man off a drive, but we are also putting a big on a shooter with regularity and cheating him fully into the paint, leaving the corner wiiide open. The guy guarding the man at the wing isn't splitting the difference between the wing and corner and so nobody can get there with anything more than a token contest.
