Post#1 » by ijspeelman » Tue Mar 4, 2025 4:46 pm

The scheduled rest games continue for the #Cavs as they gear up for the postseason.

Evan Mobley (rest) is OUT for Tuesday’s contest in Chicago.

Luke Travers, Emoni Bates, and Nae’Qwan Tomlin are also inactive. #LetEmKnow

I wonder if we go small at the 4, or end up starting Wade?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Kenny doesn't seem as rigid as JBB in terms of promoting someone from the deep bench to start so he can keep his rotations the same.

I could see home wanting to see Hunter playing some more minutes at PF.

The #Cavs are keeping De’Andre Hunter in the starting lineup with Evan Mobley sitting tonight.

He joins Mitchell, Garland, Strus and Allen.

It's been fun watching Green produce in limited time.

I was gonna ask, he finally played rotation minutes, how'd he look?

Scrappy, and he was making shots, so he looked pretty good.

Green had the most energy on the floor on a night it was badly needed.

Yep, and while not as important, he's helping turn around our garbage time unit who are no longer just bleeding points when they come in (+3 .vs. the Bulls).

Only 1 game but you feel like he is probably no more than the 11th man?

Kenny liked the energy and athleticism that Isaac and Devonte brought to counter the Bull's athleticism (he talked about them in the post game presser). Sounds like he may be tempted to re-visit the duo when we're getting out worked.

Probably 11th man, could earn situational minutes in certain matchups. Trying not to read too much into that revenge game for Green against Chicago, though.

Cavs have kind of fallen into a play with their food stage that can accompany having a really good team.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

That's not quite it though. We had a tough time stopping Talen Horton-Tucker. Garland and Jerome couldn't hit shots off of drives. Just didn't look good until we realized that Allen and Green were ready to play last night.

On that note, I don't like starting Hunter. Where we need his self-creation is in bench units, not when we've got all our weapons out there. I'm more fine with him closing games as the need for a guy to get his own shot goes up, but I think that's part of our early deficits.

Idk if i agree with Hunter being the reason for early deficits. Celtics started 11-0 with Strus at SF, then pushed it to 25-3.

I agree Hunter is better off the bench but some of our bad starts can't be attributed to him, when he's not even starting.
