It's hard enough to "win now" while training a coach.
And it's obviously even harder while your GM is cutting his teeth.

I used the word "indirectly"..

but as much as fans liked Ferry the player I can't help but think if LeBron winds up leaving Cleveland Ferry will reach Modell-like status in C-town sports history

Paxon wasn't all bad. He got rid of Kemp's huge contract and got us something like $28 mil under the cap in '05.

I do forget about his ability to jettison some bad contracts. I guess Ferry could take a page from Paxson there. But he still screwed up every draft pick except for Boozer, and I suppose Lebron, although that one was a gimmee
