In honor of Redd's dagger tonight, I propose the following draft day trade:

Cleveland Trades:

Wally S., E. Snow, J. Smith, 2 1st rounders

Milwaukee Trades:

M. Redd, B. Simmons, D. Gadz

Why for Cavs? Get Lebron's #2, have to take on a couple of bad contracts but Redd could shoot over 40% from three blindfolded playing with Lebron. Have to give up two picks, but otherwise greatly improve long term outlook

Why for Milwaukee? $$$$$, Bucks aren't going to be contenders as currently constructed. This would rid them of all their bad contracts and either give them expiring trade chips or let them back into F/A to put pieces around their big guys and Mo Williams.

I don't want Redd.. I'd much rather go for a Mike Miller..

So Wally would still be expiring then right? I would think long and hard about doing this trade. Good proposal.

Everyone the Bucks get are expiring.

I figured it might make sense to get Redd since he's friends with Lebron and Lebron would view it as finally getting him someone he wants.

Or you could just let all those guys expire, maybe sign them to manageble contracts, still be well over the cap to add some help, have a bunch of players in their mid 30's while New Jersey puts together pieces to complement Lebron's arrival.

No need to pout just because people don't like your deal.

My issue with this is that there is no way I'd throw in 2 firsts for Redd who in fact is not really a player that I like. LeBron has never asked for Redd.

Nor do I see the Cavs taking on Gadz or Simmons crappy deals.

Give me Mike Miller. A better shooter and actually can play defense.

I don't know why Cavs fans are so enamored with Miller. He's been a mediocre player throughout his career. Of all the players that we could go after next year some reason Miller comes up all the time. Redd is 10 times the scorer that Miller is.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat. If trading 2 first picks for Gasol was considered a great coup by the Lakers why would 2 for Redd be considered anything less. Redd is atleast as good of a player as Gasol.

Well Gasol wasn't packaged with two horrible contracts in Simmons and Gad.

I think bad deals don't really apply to you guys like they do other teams. You are no where near being close to free agency and won't be unless Lebron leaves. Gilbert has shown no problem about going into the lux tax, and that isn't an issue unless he changes his mind. And when Lebron leaves, both of the bad contracts you take back would be off the books by that summer anyways.

You guys are really hung up on the bad deals, but both of those guys would be rotation players for the Cavs. And don't forget, bad contracts become big expirings which is how you would get this deal done anyways.

As for Redd v. Miller, I think that Redd is a much better player than Miller and would complement Lebron better. Feel free to disagree with me, however everyone seems to be counting on Memphis giving you Miller and Lowry for pennies, however the backlash from the Gasol deal was cited as one of the reasons Miller didn't get traded. Don't count on anyone else doing you any favors (besides Sam Presti), especially since you guys already have possibly the single most dominant force in the league and he's only 23.

Michael Redd isn't getting traded. I wish we could get him, but the Bucks aren't going to give him up. Their core is still pretty young: Redd, Williams and Bogut.

The Bucks will not trade with anyone. They have everything they need to go to the finals. Their great just look at there record. Yi's the bomb.

On the otherhand. Our guard defense looked terrible last night.

I can't believe you guys. This trade would be amazing for the Cavs. If we had Redd the past 2-3 years, we might have won the championship by now.

We would be so talented and deep after this deal:

West/Jones
Redd/Gibson
James/Pavlovic/Simmons
Wallace/Varejao/1st round pick
Ilgauskas/Gadzuric

We would win the championship for sure.

I think hitting that game winning shot last night is probably going to be the pinnacle of Redd's career.

The Cavs would be much better to find a more well rounded player to put next to LeBron. Redd can shoot but that is about it...he's not a good defender nor good at setting up his teammates. Not to mention taking on Redd's contract is bad enough without adding the other two bad contracts to this deal.

I agree with the poster who suggested Mike Miller. He would be a much better fit and probably cost alot less in terms of assets to acquire.

My guess is the Cavs could combine their ending contracts with a player like Varejao and eventually find LeBron's 2nd banana. Ferry will just have to keep an eye on who becomes available before the next deadline.

Redd wont be leaving Milwaukee. He's already stated he's committed to them, and Kohl has said he'd never let Redd get traded.

why would they give up their best player for players that aren't even in your top 4?

If the Cavs have to take on Gadz and Simmons the Bucks don't get any picks.

Take out a first rounder and it's a deal... I like Redd better than Miller because he can score better but Miller is the better defender...
