Andre Iguodala...

Any way possible we can land him for some future picks if he asks for too much money and are forced to do a S+T? I know other teams may be able to offer more or even better but any chance we can get "Pippen" (thanks Gilbert)?
I think if he could develope a shot he would be perfect next to Lebron and terrorize the league.

IF Philly can't resign him, they'll want to do a S+T where they get a player of equal skill to replace him. Something the Cavs don't really have.
why did the Cav's ownership surround LBJ with young talent (when he entered the league) instead of the old geezers?

Other than Z the Cavs had a very very young core. They've gotten older with the recent trade but I'm sure you were suggesting that Newble, Jones and Snow were part of the Cavs core which is just plain misguided. But the real issue was that the Cavs had some pretty rough misses from the draft as well as previous trades of first round picks.

The Cavs younger core when LBJ was drafted was a bunch of busts such as DeJuan Wagner, Darius Miles, Ricky Davis, Chris Mihm, Diop, etc.
The only guy from that core worth keeping long term was Boozer, and you already know what happened with that.
I'm all for Iguodala. He isn't a great shooter but he's good enough to hit open looks and can penetrate/defend. Could fit in nicely.

The problem is the guy's value has never been higher. It'll take a massive contract offer to land him, along with finding someone to take on Wally World's contract.

Not going to happen. He's getting the chance to push his value sky high with the lackluster Sixers. That's why the Cavaliers could only nab players their respective teams despised. Philly isn't going to take similar bloated contracts for their stud. I expect he'll carry them for at least a decade, if not longer.

I can't believe we were one pick away from landing him....

^ Toronto can cry bigger tears than you guys. Their pick from that year isn't even in the league anymore.

Neither is ours
Or is he? Luke Jackson, anyone?

No, but you guys didn't have the eighth pick. They did. Arguably their pick is worse. Why did Luke Jackson suck anyway?

How about the idea that we passed on Joe Johnson to take Diop.

Wasn't it Jim Paxson that committed these travesties?

Or passed on Amare/Butler for Wagner.
Or Kobe for Vitaly

Kobe wasn't going to sign with the Cavs. That just wasn't going to happen. Heck that's the reason he ended up in LA.

Let's just say, if it wasn't for Lebron and Boobie, 2000-2008 would seem mighty dark as far as draft picks go.

Boozer and Kapono were exceptional second round picks... Unfortunately both are no longer with the team.

Kapono didn't become relevant until he left Cleveland.
Boozer left because he lied to you guys.
Both outcomes occurred as result of the players' actions rather than the organization's.

I don't think Paxson was around in '96. But yeah, Boozer and Kapono were good ones. But by opting Boozer out of his contract he negates the good he did by drafting him. And he traded a 2007 first rounder for Jiri Welsh

Nobody knew that Jiri sucked though.

I did, or at least I knew he wasn't worth a first and fixing the date on the other first that we owed.
