Personally I'd do expirings and thats all. I'm not really a Redd fan. I think he has terrible shot selection and doesn't play defense. Of course there are other Cavs fans that respect his game more than I do.

Sczcerbiak, Snow and Varejao for Redd and Gadzuric. Maybe throw in some 2nd round pick, too, maybe.

I still don't know how I feel about Reed, I believe that he is a the prototypical volume shooter and I think more often then not volume shooters hurt there team more then they help it. Maybe with Lebron here he would take less shots, maybe. If all we had to do was give up expiring I would do it but I think that we need to keep our first round pick this year.

Gadzuric's contract is literally so bad that I dont think you would get anything back but pure expirings from us. How the hell did he get such a contract to begin with?

I feel like we want to add a guy who has a bigger body than Redd. A name like Richard Jefferson or Vince Carter comes to mind although I'm not sure we have the pieces to go get them.

^I like the Richard Jefferson idea. We could play him and LBJ at the wings together, he is a better defender, good spot shooter, more athletic, etc.

I used to want Redd but I'm not sure if getting him puts us over the top in terms of contender status.

That said I would give up expirings for him. We have enough next year that we'd still be able to go after a big man as well

Jefferson is my choice, he is a young athletic baller. He also does not have to dominate the ball (he played with Kidd) unlike most elite scorers in this league. I don't think that we could get him but you can dream right.

We need to make a move because the garbage we have now will get us eliminated in the second round and give LeBron a one way tick out of Cleveland

Don't be so sure about elimination in the second...

I still think we are much better than we were last year.

I mean if you can do that it is an absolute no brainer...

Thing is I don't really see why the Bucks do that with terrible long contracts still on the books. The precedent certainly has been set for such a deal though considering the Gasol trade.

Cleveland fans over here are insane. We only have expiring contracts for so long. What better deal could we get? The Nets won't deal Carter for expirings. The Clippers won't deal Brand for expirings. The only deal I can possibly see working is Jefferson, and I don't think Jefferson is a better option than Redd. Jefferson is too much like Larry Hughes in that he is more of a slasher.

Michael Redd is NOT a volume shooter. Take a look at his percentages...

-45% fg shooter
-39% 3-point shooter
-85% 3-point shooter

A volume shooter is someone that shoots around 39 or 40% from the field, 29% from 3, and 70-75% from the FT line. Redd does jack up many shots, but clearly he makes a good amount of them. No, he won't average 24ppg like he has done the last 4 years with the Bucks, but he is a guy that can average around 19-20ppg in Cleveland while shooting a high percentage from the 3-point line and from the field. He will be getting looks he has never had in Milwaukee.

Cleveland needs a catch and release shooter and Redd is one of the best in the league in that department. I don't think Richard Jefferson would be as good.

BTW, here is the deal I would do...

Cleveland Trades:
-Wally Szczerbiak
-Eric Snow
-Anderson Varejao
-2009 First Round Pick (lottery protected)

Milwaukee Trades:
-Dan Gadzuric
-Michael Redd


Milwaukee gets Cleveland's first round pick for next year and they also get to dump Gadzuric's HORRIBLE contract. They also get a young big in Varejao that can give them energy and defense.

Jefferson is like Hughes in terms of style. Jefferson is unlike Hughes in terms of talent.

The farm? Are you serious? A 2009 first rounder (likely late first rounder) and Varejao should not be considered "the farm".

BTW, I would be more included to bring in a SG like Jefferson if we had a better offensive PG....like Mo Williams.
