Awesome Halftime Piece about Lebron

Post#1 » by magicfan4life05 » Sun May 4, 2008 6:21 pm

Hey guys

during the halftime of the celtics/hawks game today they had an awesome halftime piece about lebron and it showed him with his family and stuff and basically it was another side of him and i thought it was really cool.

did anyone see it and does anyone have a link to it?

thanks

Yes it was really good.

What I really dont understand is that SO many fans in the league HATE LeBron. This guy does nothing but play hard and do the right thing and say the right thing. He really could have laid to Washington in the press conference after game 6 but he didnt. And after being punched, swung at, elbowed, taunted.....they guy.....excuse me.....kid (remember he is 23) walks to the podium and gives a first class interview.

Yeah, I saw it. That was a really good piece. I also agree with Niko23, I can't understand why Lebron gets so much crap from fans, analysts, etc.

I didn't see it unfortunately. What kills me is that someone posted recently that LeBron was actually passing Carmelo in awful things that he's done. I was just baffled about what they might have been talking about.

I gained a lot of respect for LeBron after watching that. He seems like a really good father.

Blah. Apparently I missed it since I just woke up when it was the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

LeBron doesn't really do many negative things. Every time I read a LeBron bashing post (and you can't go five minutes without one) it is the same thing every time, "blah blah blah media/stern loves and protects LeBron blah blah blah I hate him with every fiber of my being." I never understood this. LeBron isn't the one creating any pieces or segments on NBC/ESPN/TNT, other people are. The crybaby comments were funny, as he stated plainly that Washington was trying to hurt him, but he didn't complain and say it should stop. Everywhere you hear that Jordan never would have said anything about it (even from players on an inferior team the Cavs easily beat), but then it was either Windhorst or Pluto who dug up a piece about Jordan saying the exact same thing LeBron said about playing Detroit. Funny, I didn't see anyone talking about that on RealGM.

You want to hate a guy because other people really like him and he is good, that is up to you, but I personally think you are a moron for doing so.

You gotta understand that because LeBron is so damn good people are going to naturally hate him after he abuses their team.

It's no different than when Jordan was at his peak. People were constantly complaining about how he gets all the calls etc etc.

LeBron is an amazing player especially considering how young he is.

I'm looking forward to seeing how he does next round against my C's. :)

For those of you that don't understand why so many fans hate LeBron... try listening to what people are saying... then you'll get it.

Since LeBron is compared to Jordan so often, I thought that this was the perfect time to compare the two again, due to similarities.

For all of you old enough to remember the heartbreak that Jordan routinely dished-out to the Cavs back in the 80's, you can sympathize, and probably remember feeling the same way about Jordan that other fans today feel about LeBron.

I used to hate Jordan. It took me MANY years to finally forgive him for being so great, and for destroying the Cavs so many years in a row.

This is the EXACT same reason that fans of other teams "say" they hate LeBron...They fear him. I remember my "hate" for Jordan...and it wasn't really hate; It was envy. I even rooted for him in the late 90's. I hated the Bulls, but thought Jordan was the supreme icon.

Imagine that you are a Lakers fan, and for years, your favorite player (Kobe) has been the unchallenged, undisputed king of basketball. Then - all of a sudden - this kid from Akron,Ohio enters the league... and he is good...real good. Then each year he gets better. People compare him to Jordan and all of the greats, while your favorite player is getting lost in the background. Then, imagine that same kid beating YOUR team every time they meet. How would you feel??? Would you not hate LeBron, or at-least say you did? At the very least you'd try to pick him apart, in a vague attempt to prove that YOUR favorite player was still the best.

Now imagine you are a fan of ANY other team in the league...and your favorite player doesn't even come close to Kobe. How do you feel about LeBron now?

Jordan went through this, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Tiger Woods, A-Rod, Brady, etc, etc, etc.

When you become one of the all-time greats, this is part of the price. You are secretly adored by all, but mostly, only your fans will show it.

How many of us Browns fans hate Tom Brady, or at-least think he is over-rated ??? :::Raises hand::: How many think that A-Rod is over-paid, and that the Indians don't need him? How many times have we felt this way about sports-stars who didn't play in Cleveland?

Well, LeBron is already a LEGEND, and he is 23 years old.

Now, do you understand why there is so much "hate?"

I am not Lebrons biggest fan, but after seeing that I have a lot more respect for him, and if he weren't playing my Celtics in the next round, I'd be pulling for him.

That is just a stupid comment. When was the last time Lebron was criticized by an analyst? Do you even watch ESPN? They're all up on his jock more than any other athlete in the NBA. So he takes care of his kid...why should I respect him for that? All fathers should take care of their kids. What makes him so special? He is so arrogant and cocky it is disgusting. A few years ago he talked about wanting to become the first frican american billionaire or something like that. WTF??? People don't like cockiness and arrogance. You guys should know that.

What's funny is that I don't see a problem with him wanting to be a billionaire. I find it amusing that you have a problem with that. But yes, I agree he shouldn't really be commended for taking care of his children people like Bird, Malone etc. should be vilified for not taking care of their children instead. I do agree that he can be cocky (of course I think most players can be). Heck one of the most cocky players that I've seen these playoffs was Garnett and don't even get me started on Pierce.

By the way, LeBron is criticized very often even on ESPN. It's just that your hatervision won't allow you to see it.

The last time I saw LeBron critisized on ESPN was this morning by Skip Bayless. The dude does it at least 3 times a week.... but thanks for asking.

Ya, he's criticized all over the place. For instance, IIRC, last Monday after the game 4 win, the PTI guys were saying how Lebron would have been screwed had West missed the final shot. They can't praise him, they just have to find something to vilify.
