Need to trade for a PG

Do you think it would be possible to trade for a solid PG...maybe someone like Raymond Felton??? I really dont think that the Bobcats would do any kind of trade involving him but they do make some strange decisions.

im fine with the combo of delonte and boobie...no need to trade

I dont believe that Delonte is a true PG...he's certainly not the distributor that the Cavs need to be a serious contender...I know that Lebron does the majority of the distributing but someone who is a better passing PG than West is needed to make good passes and penetrate and dish when Lebron dont have the ball or isnt in the game

OK, we're talking about PGs here, and you "would like" the Cavs to get Redd? Does this really concern the Lakers?

first of all..I'm sorry for starting another trade topic....i didnt see the other one down on the board....my bad...second of all....PG....just talking about PG's here...and Michael Redd is too old and too inconsistent.

I just think the Cavs need a true PG. Someone else to distribute the basketball...Delonte is a solid perimeter defender and can get to the bucket...but he really lacks the skills of a true PG...he's not a great passer or ball handler and doesnt really have great court vision. I just dont see him being the PG answer for the Cavs.

You are okay posting about trading for a PG. I don't necessarily think it's an absolute need however. I'm pretty happy with Delonte/Gibson as well. The team actually needs some consistency somewhere else however. That's what I think is the need, not to mention we are really pretty old on the front line.

PG. how about Baron Davis or Jose Caldaron, in a sign and trade.

maybe Mo Williams from the Bucks, possibly getting Charlie V from them as well

Ray Felton from the bobcats might be an option as well so could TJ ford.

i can't think about any other PGs that may be on the market. that would help the team. so what do all of you think about those guys as cavaliers

I absolutely agree that the Cavs are too old on the front line...I just think you're more likely to be able to draft those spots instead of trade for them....the reason I singled out Felton to trade for is really simply because i'm a tarheel...lol...a true PG is needed

Hey, from the toronto board..

What do you guys value TJ and Calderon at? I know we're looking to ship one of them, probably TJ because of his injury proneness and Calderon's super-efficient play this year, but I think we'd still sign and trade Calderon if we got enough yield for him.

Thoughts?

I really don't value TJ at all and I think the Raps are going to want more than we can give for Calderon.

i agree with the previous statement....TJ is too inhury proned and Calderon is most likely too high for the Cavs...and Felton would probably be the same for the Bobcats.....but a dude can dream...lol

That seems to be the consensus with other teams as well...sigh.... nobody wants TJ, including us, but we've got so many holes that we've gotta move one of them, if not both.

If I'm looking at Cleveland, I don't really see that much of an upgrade, if any, needed at the point. West isn't the greatest under pressure, but he's good enough to get the ball to Lebron when he isn't bringing it up himself, and I've got pretty high regard for Gibson. Players like Pargo and Gibson are consistent enough to give the starting point a breather while also being liable to go off one game out of five, which is more than you can ask of a backup PG.

I think you guys could really improve at the SG position though. Brown, Szcerbiak, Jones and Pavloich (spelling?) are all pretty lackluster, and though Wally's been playing alright postseason, he looked like he belonged in Europe when he first arrived. Once you find the Pippen to your Jordan though, the East is gonna be a lock until James decides to ship out.... to Canada.!!?

That missed 3 yesterday was almost enough for me to advocate that Szczerbiak be sent to Europe. But I digress. I agree 100% that the Cavs need an upgrade at one of 2 positions, either SG or PF.

Come on guys stay focus on the task at hand. We don't have to reinvent the wheel, are most glaring weakness is a running mate for LBJ. I think that is a consensus so the first thing we do is either sign a free agent shooting guard via free agency and then draft a big during the draft. Followed up by getting your filler type players with all of your expiring contracts. Wally is the first to go, their is no way in hell that we pay him what he is due for next year 13-14 million {we can add more players to make it more attractive D.Jones, E.Snow & a few more expiring contracts} So to sum everything up we can fulfill are two glaring needs without any mental strain by signing a SG with are MLE plus Devin Browns money which would put us some where around 8-9 million if I'm not mistaken, and then draft a big. Follow that up by shopping all of our expiring contracts to fill needs. By the way we also have an option of trading Andy along with Sasha at the trading deadline of next year. So yes we have a lot of flexibility.

I almost guarantee that Wally starts the season on the Cavaliers. He might be traded later, but he'll start the season playing with us.

I wouldn't understand the thought process behind keeping Wally. If we all agree that we need someone who is athletic and can create their own shot, besides Lebron {which isn't Wally forte} then wouldn't it behoove us to maybe give that individual 9-10 mill or more. Instead of giving it to a person who is dependent on someone else to create for them like Wally. Don't get me wrong I like Wally but for only half of what he's going to get. The bottom line is we need more athletic players, look at every other team and they have at least two players who can create for themselves. Why not us

heck if all we need is someone that's athletic and can create their own shot Sasha is our guy. Of course I think that Wally has a better chance of making the shot however.

The reason I don't see us trading Wally this off season is that I think his value will be greater as we get closer to the trade deadline.

By the way, I don't know why you think putting someone athletic next to LeBron is such a priority. I think the most important thing is someone that can make shots and create their own as well but most importantly they need to be consistent.

First of all if you really consider Sasha as being more than a decent player at best then I can see the problem right their. However I'm going to give you the benefit of doubt concerning that point. But if you go back to your last point {I think the most important thing is someone that can make shots and create their own as well but most importantly they need to be consistent} which was and still is exactly what I was saying. Hell Desmond Mason is fricking athletic but I wasn't calling to acquire him. My statements consist of finding someone athletic who could create their own shot, now if you thought I wanted someone like Desmond Mason, Rickey Davis, DeShawn Stevenson, Jamario Moon, and last but not least Sasha Pavlovic wrong. Although they all have the capabilities to create their own shot I thought it was a forgone conclusion on this site that we are trying to progress not regress. So I assumed that one would understand what I was trying to convey. So yes we still need someone athletic who can create and make a shot. You need more than one person to create we are the only team in the league with that deficiency.[/i]
