If I'm Dan Gilbert...It's Time to Make a radical Change before his Investment loses $200,000,000.00

I pick up the Phone and offer Pat Riley the position of GM/Coach.

That would be the strongest display of his commitment to putting the Right team around LeBron.

With 30 million in Expirings,
Young talent in AV, Pavs, Boobie,
Draft Picks

and HIS CONNECTIONS AROUND THE LEAGUE

I GUARANTEE he gets All-Star calibur talent to the Cavs.

You may disagree, But the limits of Danny Ferry and Mike Brown were painfully obvious this year. i dont think Gilbert will fall on his sword to support these guys any longer.

The Window is CLOSING!!!

Your thoughts?

So a team that got to the Finals last year and was a missed shot or two from the ECF's this year is all of a sudden desperate?

^^^ Take LeBron off that "TEAM" and see if they make it to the ECF.

cant believe you guys would not trade Ferry/Brown for a proven winner in Riley...Thats D.U.M.B!

I hope Gilbert sees the urgency that you obviously do not.

Pat Riley is a LA,NY,MIA kinda guy...

Trust me, as he gets older every year, I don't think Cleveland and even the lure of LeBron James is enough to get Pat to relocate...Or even registers on his radar..

Everyone always says "without LeBron" or "take away LeBron"... Why? We DO have LeBron. If we didnt have LeBron none of this would be relevant anyway and we wouldnt be worrying about who will get us to the Finals because without our top guy we wouldnt get there regardless of who else was on our team. The Lakers wouldnt get there without Kobe, the Spurs without Duncan, the Hornets without Paul, and so on..

I do agree that Riley will be a great coach for us.. But it is definitely not worth it for that amount of money.

Pat Riley is a "Win the Championship" type of guy.

LBJ gives any coach the best chance of doing that.

Pat Riley is getting real old and has had a lot of health issues. He's got 1-2 more years of coaching tops, if he even wants to do that.

And no way are the Cavaliers desperate. With Detroit's core reaching their end, Boston looking very beatable, and no other East teams having anywhere close to the Cavs talent and/or playoff experience, I think this team as it exists right now can take the East in 09. And if they stay healthy and hit shots, no reason they cannot win the 2009 NBA Championship.
