I would not. Maybe if you left out Simmons and Smith but not as written.

I dont think that i would pass on an offensive weapon like mo in either of those trades even though id rather try and keep the 19th pick as our frontline is in some desperate need of a youthfull project

Hmmm. Can we take out the 1st rd draft pick?

I would do Snow, Damon, 2nd rounder (s) for Mo. That is essentially a swap of expirings for his contract.

I would also do Wally, Damon and something other than Joe Smith.

Would prefer to keep Joe Smith

I'd do the first and third trades in a heart beat. Much needed scoring relief all around for Lebron. Give all three of the guys that we receive some minutes, and they'll produce. Don't think Milwaukee would do that trade though, definitely could get something for Mo. Gadzuric's contract is manageable. I'm sure the Knicks would love to get their hands on Simmons.

I wouldn't. We need a SG, not a PG. We would be giving up cap-room for 2010 and taking on HUGE contracts in exchange for what? Mo Williams sure won't be getting us over the hump.

I don't think the upgrade of Mo Williams from Delonte West is enough to justify the impact that this trade will have on our long-term outlook.

We need a SG or a scoring PF.

Considering Mo Williams' D, I'm not sure of he would be an upgrade over Delonte West. Certainly not the West we saw in the playoffs. Simmons is basically Ira Newble II, and Gadzuric isn't a big upgrade over Dwayne Jones. That deal does not help the Cavs short-term, and makes them worse long-term.

I agree the biggest need is a PF who can reliably put up 13+ PPG and not be a defensive liability. And that player should be taking minutes from Ben Wallace, not Joe Smith or Varejao.

Edit--I forgot to mention my other main reason for not liking this deal, the injury factor. Mo has missed at least 15 games in 4 of his 5 NBA seasons. We've seen that movie before...

How about:

Milwaukee trades: Redd, Charlie V, Dan Gadzuric
Cleveland trades: Wally, Anderson Varejao, Eric Snow + first round pick.

Not a Cav fan nor a Buck fan, but I think Redd to Cleveland would make sense. The Bucks are looking to dump Redd's contract, and probably Gadzuric/Simmons contract too. I can't see Scott Skiles coaching Charlie V. Snow, Anderson, and Wally are all expiring contracts, and I bet Skiles would love Sideshow Bob.

Meanwhile, the Cavs is getting a legit #2 scoring option who can shoot+create his own shots. While the Cavs gives up Anderson, they still have a lot of good front court players to play D and Charlie V would give the Cavs another scoring option.

It works in Trade checker...

You'd have to do that one.

Agreed. Our interior defense might take a hit with Charlie V. but he can stretch the floor.

I'd pull the trigger

Too bad the Bucks would probably have a good laugh about it...

Honestly, I don't think we are getting Redd, Brand, Miller, Melo, Mayo or whatever great player you can think of this offseason.
