Teams to trade with

Post#1 » by Hydroponic3385 » Fri May 23, 2008 7:56 pm

Thinking about it, as of right now there are only 4 teams I could see the Cavs trading with this summer or early on in the season. Obviously it's so early that there are still many rumors and scenarios that can come about, but I'd say these 4 are the most likely:

--Memphis Grizzlies (for Miller, possibly including guys like Cardinal, Lowry, Darko...Cavs trading expirings + possibly Andy or Sasha or a 1st)
--Portland Blazers (for #13...Cavs trading Varejao)
--Milwaukee Bucks (for Redd, or possibly Mo, and possibly including their bad contracts like Simmons and Gadz...Cavs trading expirings, Andy or Sasha, and possibly picks)
--Indiana Pacers (for Jermaine, possibly including guys like Tinsley...Cavs trading Varejao, expirings/picks/whatever)

Those are not the actual deals I anticipate, just the general idea. And Milwaukee and Indiana may be particularly tough to trade with since they're in the same division, but I guess we'll see how much weight that factor holds.

Any other teams you see as realistic trading partners with the Cavs? Hopefully no one includes the Knicks unless it's involving their #6.

hmmmm...there are a lot of teams that HAVE to make some changes...teams that had very good teams this year but not good enough to make a serious run at a championship and some that fell or will fall just short of a championship.....but as far as teams that would deal with the Cavs...I'm not sure....I know that Dallas has to make some changes as well as San Antonio...San Antonio has to get younger and possibly get something for Duncan while he's still valuable...but they wont trade him and really dont have anything the Cavs would want other than their big 3 which are UNTOUCHABLE...Charlotte has some choices to make as well....I dont really like the though of getting Redd from the Bucks...no real reason why I just think it leaves a bad taste in my mouth....Cavs need to have a first round draft pick this year and make it a good one....the Cavs havent had a successful draft since they drafted Lebron. Thats part of whats hurt them....The only decent player to come on their team from the draft since then is Gibson...well I dont know how they got Varejao...but the draft day and July is gonna be interesting.

oh and Seattle has some dealing power since they have 6 draft picks this year...2 first rounders and 4 seconds.

Hunter made it agreed upon before the trade ever happened that he would be waived. AKA he didnt want to come to Cleveland. For his troubles he got a cool 1 million bucks. Ohh the joy of being 7 feet tall.
