Honestly...what we need...

Post#1 » by eyejayem » Wed Jun 4, 2008 7:57 pm

Got ya! Ya thought it was going to be some suggestion but I want everyone's thoughts with the draft coming as to what we should do about Lebron and costars for the next couple of years(vet or rookies). We need a post pressence and a wing or PG. One has to be the #2 in the system and the other has to be the #3. Choose your top 5(somewhat obtainable or on the block) for both:

Post:
1.Darrell Arthur(Likely not with stock rising everyday)
2.Jermaine ONeal(If not hurt would be perfect/+ 2 yrs left doesnt mess with cap)
3.Elton Brand/Chris Kaman(I put both because I think they have the same value for LAC)
4.Emeka Okafor(Young to be part of the core/defensive but needs offensive polishing)
5.Rasheed Wallace(Detroit blowup/Dumars may think it will slow Lebrons growth-risk)

Other considerations: AK,Marion,Shaq,Darko(sleeper/still 23),Zach Randolf

Wing/PG:
1.Mike Miller(2 yr deal/ Perfect next to JO)
2.Nicholas Batum/Russell Westbrook/CDR(perfect rookie compliments to play the 2)
3.Vince Carter(I would think just scary)
4.Baron Davis(Why are we debating this, I still have no clue)
5.Kirk Hinrich (Great defense/usually guards sg,imagine him against pgs/~38% 3pt/~6ast)

other considerations: Redd,Mo Williams, Jamal Crawford

Who is your top 5?

Here is a novel concept, but given Lebron's size & strength, why not play him at the 4? You can add a wing who can shoot to stretch the floor, or take advantage of the mismatches that Lebron would create and add some athletes and run more. Look at some of the 4s around the league...Jamison, Harrington, Murphy, Rashard Lewis...I really don't see any way Lebron has a problem matching up physically. I'm glad for the rest of the league that Ferry & Mike Brown aren't smart enough to give that a shot.

Lebron doesnt want to play with his back to the basket peroid. If he did he already would be. It is mind boggling that he doesnt do that more at the sf position. I believe later in his career he will be a four, but not in the near future.

^^To add on to his post, we have no one to tell him that he should be playing in the post more. LeBron only wants to be a perimeter threat...

Yup..it's pretty ridiculous that Lebron has never developed a post up game.

What makes it worse is that he is an INCREDIBLE passer from the post. He can skip passes all over the floor one-handed.
