Seriously, where the hell is Cleveland at with this? Surely New Orleans would have done the same deal with us instead since we are in the East. This pisses me off.

For some reason people think I'm being paranoid when I say that nobody wants to do anything like this for fear that it actually helps the Cavs. There are deals like this every year and people know that the Cavs would be interested but they don't ever seem to do them with Cleveland. Strangely enough a late first round pick actually has less value than that of a early first rounder because the second rounder comes without a guaranteed contract. So I'm not at all surprised that the Hornets sold their pick.

We dont even know the details yet people. Same thing happened last year when some team "sold" a pick and everyone was up in arms because we didnt "buy" it. As it turned out the team that bought the pick had a much larger TE than us so they actually had more to offer than we could. As it stands now I believe we have a TE of only around 2.5 mil. If someone else offered more than that why would the Hornets take our offer instead? Lets let the dust settle a bit.

Plus as Outty pointed out, late first rounders actually have equal or less value than that of early second rounders due to contract issues. Its the reason you see teams with late first round picks basically giving them away every year. Lets have some faith and not overreact just yet.

What about the rumor that the Knicks may get the #5 from Memphis for David Lee and Malik Rose for the #5 and Cardinal? Knicks get the #5 and have #6 pick without giving away a pick. Cant be.

We can give them Varajao and add a 2nd for next season. He is as good as an expiring and a lil less than Lee but I think we can get it done.

How about #5,#28, and Brian Cardinal for the Anderson Varajao,#19,future 2nd, and cash?

Ferry dropped the ball. The 27 pick isn't a huge deal, but some teams value picks enough that it could be enough spice to push a borderline trade through in our favor.

The Portland GM is doing a helluva job building assets...
