The deal was not for a second round pick. It was for the option of switching second round picks.

It has been pointed out on other boards that the real advantage for Denver is that they receive a TPE, that they can save an use later to acquire a player who might not be available at this point. Without understanding how that TPE might benefit the Nuggets, you can't really evaluate the trade from their standpoint.
