I know everyone is ready for this big back up plan, sorry. What I was going to say is:
If we can get Josh Smith can we help Atl by helping ourselves?
Eric Snow/Chi 2nd for Speedy Claxton/Solomon Jones/09 1st rd pick
or
Damon Jones/Billy Thomas/Chi 2nd for Speedy Claxton/ 09 1st
So 1st scenario is Eric Snow gets to go home and they get out of Speedy's contract since he is injury prone. They drop in where they draft but if they get out of Speedy's contract they easily keep Smith and dont have the same problems with Marvin and signing a decent FA when Bibby leaves.
If Snow retires they get even more cap and the exception.
2nd scenario is pretty much the same but the get a shooter in Jones who can function when he has a SG who can handle the rock like Wade, James, and now Joe Johnson.
Cavs get Speedy whose defense (1.5stl whole career) is good but he is injury prone. But we get a 1st which will likely be protected. Try and keep it top 10 protected not lottery. Or Possibly just do a swap of 1sts.
