While I understand and agree with you that it can get old for a Cavs fan. All I have to say is that the media likes to cover these stories about the possibility of where he might go. Then he himself fuels the fire further by saying he'd do it if the numbers were right. Long story short, the media brings up these stories and I just think we should be able to talk about them that's all.

This isn't Star magazine. The media is out to grab your attention, whether it's crap or not. Any lil story about LBJ leaving is a hot topic, whether there is any truth to it or not. Thats why you wont see the Euro story on some of the more reputable sights out there.

Did LBJ really say he might go if the $ is right? If that is true then I guess being the best NBA baller, and winning NBA titles don't mean much to him at all?

Would'nt that just make him a money whore? And go against almost everything he actually has said about his career and playing for his hometown team? More power to him, if he bolts overseas, but honestly, I feel that he is telling the truth when he says that he wants to win titles in Cleveland.

I don't see what his potential free agency being 2 years away has to do with anything. IMO there should be a LeBron sticky about his potential free agency in two years.

It's a popular and legit topic of discussion worldwide, not just for Cleveland fans, whether people like it or not. Personally I don't care for the topic, but I don't understand locking the threads either when there is no sticky.

Personally, I think it's because the Mods are tyrants. But that could just be me.

Sure you can. I don't really think that talking about LeBron wearing a Yankees hat or the pure speculation that he'd take a 50million dollar deal 2 years from now are reasonable. But even those wouldn't have been locked had the OP made a less biased comment to start the threads.

If you want to start a thread about LeBron potential free agency 2 years from now, feel free.

The General board is more appropriate place for other teams fans to post the Lebron leaving Cleveland
threads. It serves NO purpose to author threads on the CAVs board to have them debate doom and gloom (of Lebron leaving) which as previously posted has been over posted and had it's brains beaten out on this board. To post negative threads (about Lebron leaving) like this on a team board is sometimes (or not) subtle Trolling which is not appreciated by the home town fans which is why (IMO) the mods acts to negate these lost threads.

^^Exactly these LeBron threads usually attract trolls. As it is most die hard Cavs fans post on other forums because we are sick of the constant LeBron is leaving sheep mentality we see on RealGM, ESPN, etc.

I know it's a wacky and crazy opinion, but you would think LeBron would be a legit topic in the Cleveland Cavs thread. I'm sure if LeBron were in NY, CHI or LA they would have trades in their forums on him. There is one in the NY forums.

what do we need to say about the situation right now? its just the same tired act over and over again. if the knicks, nets or olympiakos fans want to have an lbj to their team thread on their boards, then let em but the situation is still two seasons away

I don't care for the topic myself, but I think it's silly not to have a thread in the Cavs forum. There are a lot of threads that I don't care for. If I don't care for the thread then I don't post in it or read it. There is no logical explanation for not having a thread here in my opinion.

The Cavs forums are one of the more lame forums on Real GM. That's no one's fault, there are other Cavs message boards out there, but I don't see why anyone wouldn't want a topic that generates so much discussion like that on here. I think not having a thread on it is over-thinking things.

Well said. Outlaw keep up the good work.

Personally I would lock this thread up just the same, original poster could have PM'ed this question.

I have no idea why people think that we should have a LeBron to whereever thread on this board. But if you think so feel free to start one. It's not as though I'm in the habit of locking every thread concerning LeBron. That'd be silly. But I also don't see why we'd want a thread saying to trade LeBron just because it's inevitable that he'd be leaving for NY in a couple years. He might actually leave, but I doubt it'd be for NY since neither team is particularly good and if he's only leaving for money Europe seems like the logical place. What I find hilarious is that it is Knicks and Nets fans who are saying that LeBron will not leave the NBA. If you truly think it's all about money, Europe appears to be by far the best option. If it's not about money, he's doing just fine in Cleveland or he could go somewhere that actually is pretty good and can offer him money like Miami or LA. No matter what, he's likely not going anywhere without a sign and trade.

Why are people arguing that the Cavs fans should have a free agency thread when no Cavs fans seem to want to start one? Maybe it's not a topic of interest to real fans and only you fake Cavs fans really find it an interesting topic to discuss.

Seriously, why is it people who don't post here the ones complaining about there not being a topic? If you want a topic start one. If you don't normally post here don't be surprised if people question your motivation. We already know that two of the people commenting on this are actually fake Cavs fans (CFO).

Kind of funny that th erumor of Lebron going europe can be on a lot of boards except for the team that he plays for. To me ha to be better way to handle this than just locking threads.

Like Outlaw has already mentioned in this thread we have no problem with someone posting a thread about Lebron leaving, even if it has been gone over countless times before. The thing is though since the topic has already been brought up countless times if someone just post a already discussed topic and adds nothing to new such as:
"...via ESPN.
That would suck ass big time for Cavs fans if that happened. That's a lot of dough, though."

So if you want to post a thread on Lebron going to Europe I think that you are more then welcome to but actually add something new to the dicussion rather then tell us something that we have heard for the past 3 or so years and will likely here for the next 2 year Ad nauseam

I think it is kind of funny that we don't have a Kobe thread about him going to Europe -- after all he is the best player in the NBA according the Laker fans. Kobe's contract is running out real soon too which means he just might beat Lebron to Europe --- Moscow would be perfect since they like it rough there too.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant playing in Europe? NBA dismisses talk of mass exodus

But the league would sure be alarmed if Kobe Bryant wasn't joking when he told reporters after a pre-Olympic exhibition game: "Italy, Greece, Russia, $40 million a year? Yeah, I'm there, as simple as that."

That is a significant point. Kobe is probably more likely to go to Europe than LeBron actually. Heck, Kobe grew up in Europe while LeBron grew up in akron. Not to mention, Kobe if making less than LeBron, has won a title and is way closer to the end of his playing years. Of course, the media who made up all this crap has been saying that LeBron was too big for Cleveland since before he was drafted and frankly they've already been wrong once about him resigning.

David Stern would croak the minute Kobe and LeBron bolt for Europe

I take that back... David Stern would commit suicide if that happened
