Both these guys deserve some appreciation from Cavs fans.
Joe Smith is a helluva guy, great veteran presence, and has a very solid midrange game. He was a very welcome addition from the big trade last season, and was possibly our most consistent big at times down the stretch.
Damon Jones is obviously quite the character, his sense of humor was great for the fans and for his fellow players, he was well liked by Lebron, and he would hit a clutch 3 now and then.
Thanks to both of them for their time on the Cavs, and for helping us land Mo Williams of course. Thanks Joe and Damon!

SONICS/OKC fan here.Nice thread well happy with trade for OKC. Also pleased to add a top vet to help our young team even if we just keep him till trade deadline.Could he end up back with the CAVS then?

Both have been helpful to the Cavs during the playoffs, for that they will be remembered. I really wish we didn't have to give up Joe but that is the way the game is played.

I think Joe smith could be avaliable due to your expiring of Snow.OKC are stacked with PFs Smith and wilcox could definately be avaliable at trade deadline but it probably cost you a 1st.

I don't think it is very likely for us to get Smith back. Chances are not very high that a player will return to a former team but only time will tell.

Re: Joe Smith and Damon Jones Appreciation Thread
They might be able to get Joe Smith back, simply because Sam Presti is really good at churning veterans in exchange for draft picks. But Presti is too smart to just give Smith away, and I'd rather see him fleece a first round pick out of a team other than Cleveland.
But I like Joe Smith, and wish him the best. Damon Jones too, expecially because Mike Brown buried him last year, even though he was halfway decent.
